God forbid these companies have an accident with their work truck. The insurance company who handles these is painfully slow at claims processing, use contracted adjusters to review claims (who aren’t able to give out good info because they are contractors themselves and don’t have access to detailed claim information), and on top of it all, they are also slow to answer phones. I used to work for the Spook olotl Halloween Axolotl Ridding Skeleton Denosaur Moon T-Shirt it is in the first place but contractor who handled those claims. I felt sorry for the delivery companies. They often would get screwed over. This reporting is long overdue, and didn’t even go into the specifics. It’s worse than the article reports when you get into the details.. It is obvious Amazon is taking advantage of people that don’t know what they are getting into and it is a shame. It’s insane how often people are surprised when corporate doesn’t have any decency or humanity. They are literally what’s wrong with this world.

Just look at how many people respond to these stories with: “you didn’t bootstrap your individual responsibility hard enough”. Wow. I am speechless. I am one to defend Bezos and Amazon, but what they are doing to these people is appalling. If this was an isolated incident where it was just one or two owners then I’d say maybe it was the Spook olotl Halloween Axolotl Ridding Skeleton Denosaur Moon T-Shirt it is in the first place but way they were running their business but I’ve been reading these nightmare stories for months now so it isn’t just one stupid guy that should’ve known this was a bad investment, there’s are at least a dozen different owners that I’ve read about that either they’re not profiting or Amazon just pulled the rug out from under them. The all important piece of this puzzle is a copy of an actual contract an owner signed so we can determine what the contract states and what Amazon can and shouldn’t be allowed to do as per the contract. The common thread I’m reading from the owners and former owners is the almost daily changes and rules that Amazon placed on the businesses that almost surely allowed Amazon to not pay what they we’re supposedly obligated to pay, which would constitute breach of contract. If you are buying a business as an Independent Contractor you better know what’s in the contract or hire an attorney to have it explained to you so you’ll know if at any time there is a breach of contract. I don’t know what’s in the Amazon contracts but if anyone signed one that says “at anytime during duration of contract Amazon reserves the right to make changes to policies and procedures” then you’d be a fool to sign it, what’s the point of a contract if one side has sole discretion. As a small independent contractor myself with just 2 box trucks I know what annual maintenance, insurance and parking is, I can’t imagine a fleet 25-40 vans. I looked into this Amazon delivery business back in 2018 but just the fact of paying all of the expenses – parking, gas, insurance, drivers, worker’s compensation, office space, vehicle maintenance not to mention liability due to accidents because let’s face it, people get hit by an Amazon van they’re thinking Tracy Morgan Walmart kind of lawsuit settlement ! Something in my gut said this can’t be good. I feel for the people that tried to better their lives in the worst way because as Jeff Bezos buys his $165 million dollar house in Beverly Hills, his $500 million dollar yacht is being built in Rotterdam thats so damn big they’ll have to dismantle a fucking bridge to get it to open water, and he flies his billion dollar penis into space, there are everyday lives literally being ruined by his greed. If there was in fact breach of contract as an owner I’d be lawyering up with other owners as these people are still on the hook for hundreds of thousands of dollars, money that Amazon could clearly wipe out with swipe of a pen.
