Does 18 count as a child? When I was in my first year of uni there was an alley you could cut down to use as a shortcut to get to campus. Let’s just say it went by some undesirable looking flats. One morning I cut down the Space Jam Bugs bunny and friends tune squad shirt in other words I will buy this alley and at the ground floor window right next to it was a 50ish year old woman, standing bollock naked, smoking a fag with a can of special brew in her hand. Large fireball in the sky in Suffolk, sometime in the mid-to-late 90s. Went behind behind some trees and disappeared. I’ve only ever told a few people as I was and still am semi-convinved I was just going mad or something. I worked at Hollywood’s night club in Ipswich around that time and saw a massive fireball meteor while putting the bins out. In art class at secondary school I was animatedly talking about something and lifted my hand up (kind of like waving) and at that exact moment my idiot mate who had fashioned a home made blowpipe from a tube and crochet needle – flung it at me (it didn’t actually blow, so he got annoyed and just launched it like a boomerang).

The 6 inch needle hit my hand and I looked at it in horror to find it was neatly lodged between two fingers. Absolute scenes. I always wonder about the Space Jam Bugs bunny and friends tune squad shirt in other words I will buy this memories from early childhood that just don’t make any sense to my adult brain but I remember them absolutely clearly. For example: I remember thinking “the clock changes but I never see it moving” so I stood and stared at it to try and catch it and then the minute hand just suddenly rolled forward 20 minutes. Or the time I heard that fish breath air in the water so I sat at the bottom of a pool and tried to breath by pursing my lips very tightly and I swear I managed a breath. Also on holiday in Spain – my family and I were in a cab travelling back to our hotel. We passed down a busy high street, and I saw a bloke holding a tiger cub, trying to cross the road! A couple of days later, I spotted a newspaper article with a photo of a tiger cub, but alas, it was in Spanish. I felt sure this was proof I hadn’t just imagined seeing one, but I don’t speak Spanish, so my family never believed me. Pft. I’ve said this before on another thread, but do you remember those Alien eggs in the slime that were a kids craze back in the 2000s? Well mine had a baby (sorta). I think the trick is that some of the alien pods have babies of the same colour as the goo that’re concealed within so you are likely not to notice when you first open it. I know this because I accidentally decapitated the baby alien when playing and stretching the goo. I was mortified that so I hid the body by throwing it out onto my bedroom window sill to conceal the crime. I told no one for years and thus when I shared my sordid tale with friends recently no one believes.
