I was way more lucky than her, “only” ending up immunocompromised (similar to someone with AIDS) for my whole childhood because of Chornobyl, being born only a couple of months before the Sota Stick Boldy Shuffle shirt moreover I love this disaster and close enough to get acid rain, in our city. Combined with the lack of medical resources because of the collapse of the Soviet Union, it was an experience I wish on no one. I remember that in about 1992 here in Australia my Scout group here in Australia hosted a number of people from the former Soviet Union to give them a break. I am originally from the UK, and was living there in 1986. I remember the TV news reports at the time, and how we couldn’t eat certain things for a while. Ukrainians hadn’t much choice back then. Nobody gave a shit about them, so they ate local produce and got ill, like me and my family. But it was a wild time for all nations affected by this.

The West really dropped the Sota Stick Boldy Shuffle shirt moreover I love this ball with Ukraine, as well as Belarus, Moldova, and the Stans. For some reason the Baltics and the non-Soviet Eastern Bloc states got all the attention. Well, I can think of some reasons. It was crazy, particularly when you remember the first alarm bells in the west came from a Swedish nuclear power plant that detected contamination on workers’ clothing. As someone who worked in the nuclear power field I want to emphasize that nuclear power plants are safe when you build and operate them correctly, the Chernobyl accident was entirely avoidable and caused by a combination of unwise experimentation and flawed construction. Interesting how someone so personally affected by Chernobyl didn’t realise that it had nothing to do with nuclear weapons and was in fact a nuclear power plant lacking maintenance.
