How much is a beer now? I’ve always heard stories from boomers about how $20 was enough to get very drunk back in their day. Now that is like two drinks if you’re lucky. It’s amazing how every 5 years people blink in and out of existence. I thought my late 20s went by fast, turns out it’s because 25-29 aren’t a thing. Any 20 yo that’s stayed more then 6month at a job is a champ. I have 12 years at my job but I started at 26. The older gen is living in bizarre-o world. The resentment for having to pay anybody to do anything in this country is unreal. It is the poors who bully the wealthy, I say! We are wising up. Took a job at McDonald’s over a psych job that I get with an undergrad cause that shit pays the same but expects twice as much. At least I can show up high to McDonald’s and do that until I get higher education ir land a decent job Absolutely, as someone who has had to supervise young people, it’s always impressed me those who can hold it together and do the job when I can see the little tell tale signs that they are spangled. Boomers just need to kick it so we can start living our lives in a way that makes sense in 2023 without having to deal with their oppressive nonsense.

I’m a young millennial (end of 91) and getting blamed for stuff that I am far away from is something I had to get used to. :’) I work nights (browsing on shift ofc.) So I’m typically left to do my own thing. But it gets exhausting to hear all these guys with 10-15 year tenure talk about how “these young guys don’t do anything” when I come into their messes on a constant. Decisions made that are abysmal. Systems brought in with the idea of “innovation” but they run on software like Microsoft edge (dinosaur age). Hard to keep composure lol. It will get better on some parts, where as others never change. Trust me. I am 31 currently having a lot of autonomy, but in my previous job, I saw the same. When I started there, my first job, I just left an big multinational who did a lot with 3d drawing and constructing (I did mechanical engineering) and were really heads-on with new innovations. They always had the most recent versions and upgrades, etc. My starting company did not, they were still working on an autocad version that was 8 or 9 years old. Back then, you had to write your own applications for your ERP. They didn’t had such ERP (all excelbased), but they had their own custom plug-in for autocad. Nowadays, all this stuff is included in purchasable plug-ins that are fully supported by the manufacturer. I was hired to help with 3D as I was more experienced with that than they were and they said they did not have any experience. Turns out they had, but had been cheapskates.
