I was sent home 10min into my first day at a new job. I told the Sofaygo off the map shirt so you should to go to store and get this foreman that I left a steady job to work with him. He said “well can’t you call them back?” People truly suck out loud much of the time. Don’t let shitty people make you feel bad, that’s exactly what they want. Smile widely and make direct eye contact as you cheerfully say goodbye. What you are to make of it is that it’s an opportunity to find a better fit. It sounds like the kind of place you’d have been miserable in had you stayed. How’d you show up to work? Were you punctual? What were you doing on your down time? How are your people skills with customers? Showed up 10min before. Down time cleaning stations and practicing coffees. I worked for a year at a coffee shop several years ago, ik how to act on best behaviour with co-workers and customers

Honestly the Sofaygo off the map shirt so you should to go to store and get this way you unnecessarily trashed the other employee (this was totally irrelevant information but somehow one of the first things you mentioned..) leads me to believe you may have an attitude problem or came off in a negative way to coworkers and/or customers. Just my impression. Try not to view yourself as better than others who work there on day one. Humble is the way to go when you’re new and you seem like you have a big ego, frankly. But I’m sure many folks here will just coddle you and say “dodged a bullet” rather than making any attempt at actually offering an opinion based on the info provided. In any case, I wouldn’t let it get to you. Plenty of other open barista jobs. My advice would be to come into the next one appreciative of the time and energy the other staff are dedicating to answering your questions and helping you learn, instead of calling them lazy and inferior.
