My nanas flat consisted of a corridor off the front door, with the front bedroom to the left, the living room in the middle of the flat right in front of you, with her bedroom door to the far left corner, a kitchen right in front of you, and a bathroom behind the kitchen. All the doors to the flat bar the front bedroom and the bathroom had patterned glass doors. I was around five or six, and as was usual when we stayed with my nana I stayed in her bedroom with her, while my dad and mum and baby brother had the bigger front bedroom (I loved my nana ). Christmas Eve, a little glass of red wine, mince pie and carrot had been left on the little coffee table that was visible from my nanas bedroom (through the glass door when shut obviously). At some point during the early hours, long after I had been settled to sleep, and presumably a while after the adults had been asleep (both my nana and dad snored terribly ) I woke up (probably because of the snoring ) and saw the light on in the living room. Even tho the door was shut, I could very clearly see Santa through the glass, eating his mince pie and drinking his wine! I know I’m mad, it’s got to be my imagination, but it was so vivid and I was both terrified and fascinated by it at the same time, and to this day I’ve never ever forgotten it! I’ve always been told it’s absolute rubbish, and everyone laughs (including me) when I tell them about it nowadays – but could I have perhaps seen Santa? Does anyone else have a lasting memory of something that can only be put down to a vivid imagination from being a child?

I swear to god I could hover when I was a kid.
