Heat wave? No problem. Just send a couple American Republican politicians over there to assure everybody that climate change is just a hoax, isn’t caused by humans, and there is nothing we can do to stop it. /s Climate change is going to cause massive levels of human migration, famine, housing shortages in places that people flee to, rapid labor market distortions , et cetera et cetera. Water rights, famine and mass migration are going to create enormous and worldwide conflicts. And we still can’t get our shit figured out. The cost of doing nothing is going to be insane amounts of money and suffering. It’s pathetic our world leaders can’t get their shit together. They are ruining the Snoopy I’m only responsible for what I say not for what you understand shirt in other words I will buy this planet hand in hand with fossil fuel execs who put quarterly earning reports ahead of the planet, their kids and all of us. Imagine living in phenoix and the power goes out during the day. There is no where to flee and nothing can cool you down. Could be a million dead in hours. Ban coal everywhere. Now. Any country burning coal that can’t afford to switch should be provided with a WWII type mobilization of resources from the rich countries to replace their electricity supply with nuclear or other renewables. People complain about cars, but there are more important priorities at the moment, coal being the first. why are we looking decades into the future while a heatwave like this could trigger a breakdown and its only May. 4 years ago I was in India in Spring. I sat in Varanasi in my room in a haze just waiting for sundown, it was 40+ from sun up til sun down. And it will just become warmer…
