I had a botched pylonidal cyst surgery and I about came unhinged when they told me I’d have to wipe back go front They wouldn’t let me leave the Snoopy don’t talk to me shirt also I will do this hospital after giving birth to my children till I pooped. I had a peri water bottle became my best friend for #1 and #2 ahhh If it’s a serious enough surgery, they add a temporary hole with a bag to catch it. Once it heals, they do a second surgery to restore everything Painfully. Scream if you need to. I also had “butt foam” that I had to put in twice a day to keep the stitches as clean as possible, but getting the stupid nozzle in my sliced up rump-hole hurt even more. Had to use gentle wet wipes and a little squirty bottle thing to clean it after using the toilet. Drink as much water as you can, pop your pain meds, take a stool softener and cry until it’s over.

Unsolicited advice but, get it done before it becomes an emergency surgery like mine was. TMI, mine got so big it blocked my ah, area, and I couldn’t use the Snoopy don’t talk to me shirt also I will do this bathroom anymore. It really, REALLY sucks not even gonna lie, but once you heal it’s done and over and you don’t have to worry anymore lol. Stool softeners help A LOT. Makes it easier to go. Ice pads for the pain are great too (if you’ve given birth, you know what these are. If you haven’t, google “ice pads for new mom”.) Water bottles or bidet, Benefiber powder to mix into everything, Miralax is amazing at making things flow, and after birth and some surgeries a sitz bath (with or without a cleaning stream) and reusable cooling pads (looks a lot like sanitary pads) help reduce pain and swelling. Witch hazel was an old old hemorrhoid treatment but not sure if still the go to fix. After I gave birth they gave me some special jello that was a stool softener I think and it came out pretty easily wasn’t painful at all
