I’m 26 and only realized I was autistic and had ADHD 6 months ago. Turns out neurotypical people don’t like me because I give the Snoopy, Charlie Brown and Woodstock Let your smile change the world don’t let the world change your smile shirt Also,I will get this uncanny valley. I try my best to act and talk like a normal person, but I will never be like them. I never realized it until my mom pointed it out, but apparently sometimes being shy is is interpreted by others as you being standoffish or stuck-up. Which really sucks because not only do I have anxiety about speaking up or initiating conversations, but now if I fail to, I might also be looking like a butthole? Thanks, mom. I’m in my 30s and was consistently bullied throughout school as a kid.I kept to myself and never tried to befriend anyone because I figured everyone already hates me, why bother? But it seems like maybe I only solidified some people’s low opinion of me, or like, helped them agree with my bullies. Idk you can’t won with some people but at least I got this cool social anxiety out of it! They don’t like me cause I have ADHD. I don’t care because I have ADHD. I also have a group of friends that adore me because I have ADHD.

People I dislike based off 1st impression are usually people I find frustrating, and I don’t have enough of an incentive to override it. Maybe they’re long winded or poor listeners, etc. It’s never personal, we’re just on different wavelengths. I’m sure some people feel that way about me too. They are making assumptions about who you are and maybe attributing traits to you you don’t really have. Could be a projection of what they don’t like about themselves. You just gave the Snoopy, Charlie Brown and Woodstock Let your smile change the world don’t let the world change your smile shirt Also,I will get this reason, kind of. People don’t like people sometimes because they do not match up well. It’s a reason. We have a joke in my house. My husband expects people to like him and he is disappointed when they don’t. I expect people to dislike me so i am pleasantly surprised when they do.
