Take a quaalude before any interview. They chill you out and will make you comfortable/casual despite any nervous energy. and if I’m petty and shortsighted: (3) not to hire someone who is more talented, smarter, or that will compete with me Notice that “fulfilling someone’s personal career fantasy” or “validation that this is indeed a great company” is not on the Snoopy And Woodstock Driver Car Rutgers Scarlet Knights 2023 Shirt But I will love this list. It’s pretty rare that any corporate job is insanely fun or rewarding after any extended period of time. So if I see someone with a huge amount of enthusiasm here are my concerns: I don’t your field, but is it possible you build your own path? Where your bubbly personality won’t be dinged? I have a personality that gets along with people experiencing mental health crises… imagine how hard that is to recalibrate! Too enthusiastic in interviews comes across as desperate and disingenuous – the exact opposite of what I would want as an employer. Nothing at all wrong with bubbly. Try to channel your bubbliness into confidence, though. You don’t need the job, the job needs you. Instead of trivia or jokes, talk about your skills. Bubbly people are usually good at networking, persuasion, boosting team morale, etc. Its not a matter of changing yourself, but changing your approach. The only way I can explain this is how if you’re on a first date, and you seem over the top familiar and keep praising.

Your bubbly personality is actually an asset, but redirect it from being a familiar brown noser, reduce your words, and be positive about yourself Think of interviewing as dating. Don’t appear too overeager. Don’t send a thank you too soon. Appear confident, with self-respect and options. Show interest, but don’t be ready to give yourself up right away. If they don’t want to commit to you after many interviews, imply that you have offers (options). I feel like you’re a really nice person and that’s awesome but I want to give u feedback that might be harsh but I don’t want to hurt ur feelings… I’ll just say it as nicely as I can .. when interviewing people are looking for really really normal people , that’s because the Snoopy And Woodstock Driver Car Rutgers Scarlet Knights 2023 Shirt But I will love this more “normal” ur personality comes across the less likely there will be personality clashes … the team can’t have drama bc that’s a waste of time and takes away from work aka loses productivity / money I have managed teams before and can tell you that “bubbly” personalities are also the personalities that can emotionally pollute a work environment, distract and pull momentum from the department. I would still like to be friends with these people but they can be an energy drain – especially when team dynamics is a factor to department or company function.
