This isn’t the Snoopy and charlie rainbow st patrick’s day shirt also I will do this government blocking finances of people who disagree with them, and if that’s what you take from this situation, please read more about it and get educated on it. I know that outside the bounds of social media, but let’s give it a go, for once. Yeah, I’ve seen both in this thread, and on other threads, people clearly having no idea about the act, or even the fact that this is in Canada. I’ve seen so many people talking about the constitution lmao Exactly. What have they frozen, a hundred bank accounts? They’ve targeted the accounts that were being used as vehicles to fund the convoy. They’re not going after regular Joe in Alberta who misguidedly donated because he likes trucks and freedom. If they start going after anyone who donated, that’s a seperate matter, but so far it seems very targeted and reasonable. Not to mention most people don’t seem to realize the protest was only a part of why the Emergencies Act was invoked. The other major part was the refusal of local law enforcement to act. I suspect we’ll find out more about that in the public inquiry, but it’s understandable why the government wouldn’t announce that the police are either incompetent or complicit because that would only serve to embolden the protestors.

Maybe they can use some of that $1 million Tamara Lich withdrew from the Snoopy and charlie rainbow st patrick’s day shirt also I will do this GoFundMe. Hopefully she didn’t deposit it into her now frozen bank account. Lol. They should use the funds to pay for Covid supplies and treatment. The Anti-Vax bags of shit who contributed the money will lose their minds. When peaceful protest results in the forfeiture of one’s assets, one should prepare themselves for a response of violence. Fact is, somewhere close to half of the money involved in the protest has been shown to be coming from the States. Foreign money is attempting to impact the Canadian government. That is why the accounts are frozen. That’s a genie some people will really want back in the bottle when the protest is for something they approve of. There is nothing more permanant than a temporary government program. A lot of whining in this thread but you can’t believe that these arrests wouldnt be followed by large fines for alot of these people and companies. They are criminals and they will pay for it. You freeze their assets to make sure they can’t hide them. This is not unusual at all. Bit wouldn’t it usually be the judicial branch that freezes the accounts, after being shown just cause? Giving that power to the executive branch is asking for trouble. I am not a supporter of these protests, but it sets a pretty bad precedent if any PM can freeze the assets of any protest. Cause let’s face it, most largee protests are going to have at least some criminal activity. Just seems like a sketchy way to go about things. Same way I feel about cops in the US being able to seize assets without a conviction.
