Frankly, health/ambulance services should train their own specialist staff to deal with violent patients and threat to life and they should have 136 powers. Wonder if he will do the Snoopy And Charlie Brown Los Angeles Chargers Sitting Under Moon Halloween 2023 shirt besides I will buy this same with social services and get the fire brigade to attend collapsed in the street calls when LAS can’t. “It is the second big row Rowley has become embroiled in recently. He riled Max Hill, the head of the Crown Prosecution Service by accusing it of “cherry-picking” easier cases to improve its conviction rate.” Seems like he’s making enemies out of everyone considering how many officers initially hated him because his first act was collectively throwing them all under the bus. Good. A lot of people in mental health crisis where there is no threat to life do not benefit from police attendance; in some cases, it escalates the situation. I knew a young woman who would have bouts of paranoia and delusions about ‘the authority’ being out to get her. She’d say something alarming or yell out in public, police would be called, and her delusions about being persecuted by authorities would then be confirmed, after which she would become terrified and try to run. Eventually a smart police officer liaised with her family better and they would called her mother, who was better at calming my friend down and getting her home. That’s not always possible, but it’s a good example of how a uniformed officer turning up won’t automatically reassure a person in distress. God knows how much worse it is for communities who’ve got poor relations with the Met or have suffered the worst of shit policing.

Additionally, there was a news report a couple of years ago about police becoming so fed up with mental health calls that they started putting CPNs (the Snoopy And Charlie Brown Los Angeles Chargers Sitting Under Moon Halloween 2023 shirt besides I will buy this replacement for Asbos) on repeat callers. It resulted in one young woman being threatened with fines for telling her friend she was thinking of self-harming. Hopefully the Met don’t go down that route. Things have to get worse before they get better, it appears. The loss of faith in policing in London is predominantly because people feel they don’t get the police response they pay for in their hour of need. They don’t get police when they are victims of burglary, or robbery, or theft from their car, or their property has been damaged. They think the police don’t care. In reality the police are on their knees and have nobody to send because they are picking up the pieces when MH services fail to appallingly in this country. I really don’t doubt that 40% or more of the calls that police go to these days are MH related. There needs to be a serious institutional reform of crisis teams, care in the community, acute MH services. They are underfunded, under trained, understaffed, and they employ some of the most stupid, lazy people you will come across. It shouldn’t be the police’s issue
