Until we figure out some way to measure subjective experience, I’d rather err on the Snoopy And Charlie Brown Green Bay Packers Sitting Under Moon Halloween 2023 shirt also I will do this side of compassion than cruelty. If you drop them in head first it kills them as fast as the knife to the head method, so I don’t mind if they are dropped in head first and fast in to boiling water. I can’t stand it when people put them in tail first. not at all ive been doing it for decades regularly and they die in seconds when plunged into boiling water head first. and the “scream” that vegans do so love to bang on about is simply air escaping from the shells through tiny gaps when its heated and has expanded. there is however a special place in my personal viewpoints for people who only eat the claws from a crab and ignore the other 2/3rds of the white meat in a crab that is in the chest and legs. How can you assume which kind of method of killing is more painful than the other for whatever species? I don’t know how their pain receptors work. If you have a problem with it, I’d hate for you to know the life most industrial agriculture animals endure before they become “meat”. The even less fortunate ones are used for dairy before finally becoming meat. It doesn’t piss me off. But it gives me pause because all the other meat – that I eat – and fish comes already dead. It’s weird to actually do the killing myself. But then I say, “What am I going to do? Not eat lobster or crab at home?” Then, it’s “pass the butter.”

Does it matter? There’s far worse practices out there, like shark finning etcetera. Foie gras is pretty cruel to produce. But as long as there’s a market, there’ll be cruelty in cooking. There isn’t a clear and concise line as to where the Snoopy And Charlie Brown Green Bay Packers Sitting Under Moon Halloween 2023 shirt also I will do this humane treatment stops and cruelty begins for how we source our food. There’s religious needs in play as well. For example, there’s a practice that involves slitting the throat of an animal and waiting for it to die a slow death. Most people wouldn’t have a problem with that, but boiling them to a slow death is worse, somehow? At the end of the day, we kill animals for food. Some ways are more humane than others, but there’s no line, and drawing one would likely be controversial. So the most people can do is not eat meat they think isn’t ethically sourced. Honestly though, I don’t really care how it’s cooked because I enjoy eating cuisine the chef has spent years learning to make and put a lot of effort into. Cooking is a form of art.
