I lived in Athens for a time in the Smashing pumpkins 2023 08 17 orion ampitheater huntsville al poster shirt so you should to go to store and get this mid ’80s. Thoroughly enjoyed it for a lot of reasons, but especially for the music scene. I bet that was a killer period to live through. I grew up in Athens, but much later, I was really into the local music scene for about 2005-2015. Man it was such a great time to be alive. There were still pop up shows from big names every once in awhile, Three Six Mafia comes to mind, as does Blues Traveler. I was stationed at the Navy Supply Corps School, the most laid back base there was. The benefits of being in a college town were many. Although most of Bouncing Off The Satellites were really solo songs, She Brakes For Rainbows is the best thing that came out under their name, but the story is that it’s Cindy’s composition. The production and engineering on that song is what makes it a masterwork. It inspired me to do music production.

If you count a song with the Smashing pumpkins 2023 08 17 orion ampitheater huntsville al poster shirt so you should to go to store and get this full band, I would say it’s Loveland. It’s just dripping with David Byrne. That song combines all of the basic elements we love about them, but with this Talking Heads kind of thing that is just nuts. i listened to that tape so damn much that by the time I got it on CD it was in a different key and sounded weird for the first 20 or so spins RuPaul credits the B-52’s with giving him the break that started his career by casting him in their video for Love Shack. I had their debut album on tape as a kid and always imagined I’d grow up to own a Plymouth Satellite, faster than the speed of light. But alas, I went with Subaru. Probably a hell of a juxtaposition…I mean for as happy as their music is, they all faced judgment and discrimination for being queer (even though Cindy is not). Then you have Ricky’s death, some shitty management/label shit. They were…Love Shack is an absolute miracle. Almost as much as Smells Like Teen Spirit. Really. No one wanted either song to be a hit. I randomly sang that at work once. Some looked at me like I had lost my mind, but a few of them started singing along with me. Makes me want to sing it in other places, to find out who gets it. I’m not sure I can express just how cool and edgy they were in 1980. They had at least one legendary appearance on SNL. Love them. I had a drive with the B52’s on just the other day. Such good feelings. Loved them since I heard Rock Lobster way back when and finally got to see them in 2009.
