When it comes to TX, and pets biting, you aren’t liable and the Sir Bobby Charlton United Legends shirt In addition,I will do this dog won’t be in trouble the first time it bites someone. But you’re then on notice and the next time the dog bites someone you’ll be in trouble. The police aren’t generally who would deal with this. Your uncle would need to call county animal control, they’d send someone out and interview you about the incident and they’d create a record. If they believe the biting actually happened it’ll be reflected in the record and the next time they get called on your dog they can take action against you. Defenses against someone trying to claim your dog bit them: the dog was provoked, the person was trespassing, or the person was committing one of a number of specific other crimes like assault. If the uncle wants to insist the dog bit him, you might argue that the dog wasn’t familiar with him and he’d come on to the property unannounced and without permission… Or you argue that he provoked the dog in some way, maybe the way he was playing with the dog he was rough housing too much or he took something that belonged to the dog.

Just saying the Sir Bobby Charlton United Legends shirt In addition,I will do this dog bit him also isn’t really enough, he has to have some proof the dog bit him. A legitimate animal bite your uncle would have to have pictures or a record of admission to a hospital to pursue some kind of legal action. Without that it’s easy enough to say you were with him the whole time he was playing with the dog and you never saw the dog bite. I work in the ER in town. He hasn’t been a patient there in several years, so he definitely didn’t get any bite looked at In Texas pets, including dogs, fall under livestock laws. Owners are not held liable for livestock behaviors that are typical, expected, or provoked. However, an aggressive dog that bites or attacks unprovoked is a problem. OP’s post does sound like this is the case here, but if the uncle starts phrasing the incident as an unprovoked attack, OP isn’t quite as insulted as she would normally be in TX.
