It isn’t being safe all season or else Rosé wouldn’t be considered a ‘Jan’. If Rosé couldn’t break Ru’s theatre kid hatred, I doubt her second coming in Plasma will either. I remember after rosé reaching the finale with 3 wins and somehow i still think she has zero chance of winning. It just sit in my stomach. Same with ella veday. I remember Michelle and Ru discussing Rosé’s “slow start” to the competition as if she wasn’t in the top the first three challenges in a row. Watching the show over time has made me separate “number of wins” from “deserves to win”. Like Willow Pill in S14: one win. Angeria had 2, Lady Camden had 3, Bosco had 3, and Daya has one plus a Top 2-lipsync for the challenge win. But only Willow Pill being crowned felt totally correct. Just the personality, the brains, the looks, how there was 6 episodes where she got high placement, how hard she fought despite her illness… People also need to consider the final week as a massive challenge. Willow won the last week by far with her interview with Ru and “I hate people”. And that level of a win made up for the gap with Lady. Season 15 would be a nightmare to get cast on. Sasha Colby was already a pageant/drag powerhouse. Her walking in was Shea walking in on AS5

Yeah there are 2 different components that people are mixing up: One is the Simpson nobody cares man nobody T-shirt Apart from…,I will love this curse, where you crack after being safe week after week. It’s evolved a bit since, with someone like Loosey who still gets wins but cracks when she is safe, and someone like Q who starts down that path but then does get a win (we’ll have to see how her storyline ends though). The other is Ru not liking theatre/BFA queens, but they can still do well competition-wise, it’s just Ru doesn’t care for them. Rosé, Ella Vaday, Jan, and Marcia (a bit of a mix of the two). Marcia never cracked tho. They were TRYING to make her a Jan but she just didn’t do it. I’ll always love Marcia for that (as well as just liking her personality and drag). She lasted to top 7, has the longest streak of Safe/High placements ever, gave one of the show’s best lip syncs before she left, and has since said she found drag race pretty easy. Iconique. Hell, Ella Vaday even broke the curse and Ru even brought up weaponizing her BAFTA or whatever it is. I’m not a theatre gay.
