Asked about joining. The events looked good and the Signature American professional baseball left fielder Milwaukee Brewers christian yelich base T-Shirt christian yelich cartoon T-Shirt Also,I will get this beer was cheap. Was told they only take so many new members once a year, I have to apply only in January and in any case, they’re at capacity. I can see how it’d make sense in the days every man in town was a member and paper records would have made it trick to keep up with dues. Just seems absurd nowadays though The one by us you can’t join unless your referred to my two existing members, great guess I’m not joining then, I have no clue who’s members and who’s not You’ll have to wait outside until you see some members, like the kids who wait outside the corner shops asking for people to buy them fags Nothing unusual and perfectly justified for the elite clubs like the Savill Club in London (at approx £1600/year!), but for a grotty ‘working man’s club’ this is laughable. It’ll be too many legacy members who a) don’t want it to be busier, and b) refuse to increase the membership fee. I can imagine the AGM every single year – the treasurer delivers a report stating they are verging on bankruptcy, then the membership votes down any price increases to mitigate this. Then everyone grumbles when it shuts. All the pubs near me are 6-7£ a pint, the social club is 3.50 max so if you like a pint and snooker then that £2 is worth it for sure One near me used to be £2 a pint and everybody used to book the place for weddings, funerals, birthdays etc because the bar was so cheap.

Turned out it was so cheap because they’d been tax dodging, so it got shut down and now it’s luxury apartments 🙁 The march membership probably refers to when their year starts, probably after an AGM or something. I joined a club full of much older people and this was the Signature American professional baseball left fielder Milwaukee Brewers christian yelich base T-Shirt christian yelich cartoon T-Shirt Also,I will get this case. I had no idea what was special about march, just turned out to be their “year” for finances/etc purposes. Social clubs are a law unto themselves when it comes to pricing. I have no idea how they still function. I went to one last year for a wedding reception and a pint was like £2.50. i’ve a feeling it’s by virtue of them being a ‘members only’ club they avoid paying a lot of the overheads that a normal pub would do, because (theoretically at least) they’re not open to the public. that’s normally why they care so much about you being a member – they don’t care about the £2, but if they serve non-members then they can get done for it.
