People who do this with independent contractors, too, like me. You’ll agree to a job, you’ll get it all set up, and then they’ll come up with some convoluted thing about how they can’t afford it, or they were paying this amount for the Shut your five hole champion vintage Ice hockey T-Shirt so you should to go to store and get this last person they hired, would you accept that, etc? All you have to do is hit with somebody who has rent due in a couple days and isn’t feeling good about the amount of money they have in the bank, and you just saved yourself hundreds of dollars, etc. This. You have no professional obligation to deviate from the bait and switch standard they established your relationship with. It’s sad and appealing how many companies of all sizes expect professionalism to be one-way. Respect your own brand at least as much as they feel you should respect theirs.

That air you’re breathing? Yeah, that’s on our property, and since nothing in life is free, we’re leasing it back to you at a rate of $2/hr, and counting it towards your total compensation. Actually just saw an episode of dr who about this yesterday, space station where ya gotta buy your own air tanks Dont take it. Here’s the Shut your five hole champion vintage Ice hockey T-Shirt so you should to go to store and get this deal for me. You and the employer agree to join at a price. They offer 47k. You should tell them to fuckoff. Give them your price. You going in at 47k means you’re are in agreement of your worth. They can post a job for 40-100k. It doesn’t matter. You want X tell them that. If they like you and posting was real, they will give it to you. If they dont, they either disagree with your self-worth or are a shit company, and you better off not working there. Also, if this company is doing any more than 3 interviews walk instantly. Absolutely no reason for this BS, especially if they have a salary range. Unless you desperate and willing to put up with the BS. I wouldn’t.
