This may sound ugly, but it’s the She Was 12 And I Was 30 T-Shirt and I will buy this truth. I am still wearing my mask in public. I don’t want to smell other people’s bad breath or B.O.! A shot of Lysol on my mask before leaving the house stops that if somebody gets too close (and where I live, people do, deliberately). I don’t have to wear a mask. I’m fully vaxxed and double boosted. I spend the greater majority of my time at home with my animals. I have no trust that those that aren’t wearing masks are all vaccinated at all, so to protect myself and people that I love, I wear a mask in public places. Since the summer of 2020 I haven’t really gone further than just complying with the law and/or the decisions of owners of public buildings. If it’s mandatory, I’ll wear a mask, otherwise I don’t. I have never gone all Karen about mask mandates and I never will, it’s not a big deal to me, but if left to make my own decision I just don’t feel the need.

If I was in customer service job or if I used public transport I would. But as someone who uses their own car, works from home, and only occasionally ventures to grocery store wearing a mask doesn’t seem to be providing any benefit for anyone. Only possible benefit it could provide is if I had the She Was 12 And I Was 30 T-Shirt and I will buy this flu and I would just sneeze in the open air (or in my hand), then wearing a mask would prevent me from spreading the germs, but as an adult I am capable of sneezing into pit of my elbow or into a handkerchief. I also controversially think that anyone wearing a cloth mask is essentially wearing a crucifix for all the good it does. Don’t feel that I need one, if someone doesn’t like it, I dont argue I simply just leave if it is their store (or an employee of that establishment) otherwise if someone tells me I should wear a mask that is just a random person I politely say if they don’t like it they may stay away from me. Normally I make it a rule of thumb to stay a respectful distance from those I see in public with masks because of this.
