This is largely due to the She wants the Dean Winchester shirt But I will love this economic climate. Costs (materials, labour, energy, transport, financing) have risen. Fashion brands need to make profits to survive, or they will go under, as so many did during the pandemic. So they put up prices, and because the budget market will only take limited price increases, they also reduce costs by reducing quality. Despite this, Asos made a loss last year. This is the way things are now, better get used to it as nothing is going to change for the better in the short term. This is so frustratingly true. My fiancé doesn’t understand why I keep buying clothes from H&M and Target and the like when I’m always complaining about quality, but I feel like everything is just garbage now so I might as well spend less on it. IMO the quality often doesn’t start to get any better until the price point is like $200 for a tee shirt.

This is the She wants the Dean Winchester shirt But I will love this way things are now, better get used to it as nothing is going to change for the better in the short term. Yeah nothing seems exciting anymore! Everywhere I look, stuff is poorly made with cheap fabrics that already look terrible on the rack, AND it’s pricey. Just a bunch of garbage, destined for the landfill. I thought this was just me growing older and feeling meh about shopping…. interesting that this is a larger phenomenon. I splurged (for my budget) on some J. Crew stuff and it was all so tediously low-quality. Tshirts that frayed within a couple of washes, pants that were not well-made or structured… I def think it’s a trend. J crew in particular has been known to be slipping in quality
