My guess: The decor looks 1970s to me, so I suspect that there was probably an elderly couple living there who were then moved to an old people’s home (perhaps against their will) due to old age related disabilities such as stroke or dementia. The old people may not have then had the Shaquille O’neal Orlando Magic 1992 1996 Jersey Number Retirement achievement Shirt it is in the first place but money to fix their house or employ anyone to oversee it on top of paying for care home & healthcare costs (but also been too stubborn or distressed to put the house up for sale either), meaning that it was effectively forced to deteriorate until the owners eventually died and it was inherited by somebody else. It happens a lot, and it also happened to my family too; my grandmother loved her house and was determined to see out her days and die in it like her mother had done before her. But after she got vascular dementia & become infirm, the family had no choice but to put her in a home. We didn’t want to put her & my grandfather (who was dying of cancer) in a home either, but the worse her condition became the less willing she was to accept any form of help because she was utterly convinced that we were all “trying to take to her independence away from her” (even though she clearly couldn’t look after herself), so any cooks, cleaners or general helpers employed by my aunt on her behalf ended up recieving verbal abuse before getting sacked by my grandmother.

It was a really dire situation (we didn’t take putting her in a home lightly) but she was doing things such as falling down all the Shaquille O’neal Orlando Magic 1992 1996 Jersey Number Retirement achievement Shirt it is in the first place but time & not being able to get back up, urinating herself and not keeping track of food & shopping so that the fridge was mostly empty (and what little it did have was all mouldy). Relatives would come to stay or check up on her evert 1-2 weeks but the level of care she required was all beyond our abilities, plus nobody lived near her and everyone had their own lives to live and other commitments (kids, careers, Etc). Eventually, my grandmother was hospitalised one day after a big stroke just days after my grandfather was hospitalised from a UTI and afterwards, the hospital thankfully arranged for them both to go to an old people’s home.
