We don’t live in the Shake Milton American professional basketball Detroit Pistons watercolor T-Shirt it is in the first place but 1990s anymore. Great power competition is unfortunately a big thing again. I don’t love everything about the US, but man do I prefer it over any of the alternatives. Having troops and equipment stationed at strategic locations all over the world makes it possible for the US military to have an immediate global presence nearly everywhere at once. Never in the history of humankind has there been a force like ours with the ability to attack any location on the planet within minutes of the command being issued from the center of power. The US keeps stock of war materiel in many overseas locations. This is called “pre-positoning”. I’m not sure if they use that term for personnel that stay overseas. It’s all about projecting power and doing so in a timely manner.

There are A LOT of reasons and many people have touched on them. But one reason I haven’t seen is that it is sometimes (like with Japan) a part of the Shake Milton American professional basketball Detroit Pistons watercolor T-Shirt it is in the first place but treaty for the US to station troops there in order to protect that country after disarmament. This is the doctrine associated with the principle of having forces outside our borders especially China, Russia, and the US, are still fighting a cold war without any reflection on WW2. You say it like living over seas is a bad thing. A bunch of us never want to come back to the continental U.S. lol. How do you think the US military maintains an ability to respond rapidly pretty much anywhere on Earth? They pay those countries to host military facilities with an agreement to make the locations and to-be-agreed-upon resources available to the host country should they be needed. Then they tell the public they’re paying for other nation’s protection. They aren’t, they’re paying to maintain dominance, both financially and in selected assistance So why when Trump was trying to remove soldiers from the American base in Germany, Merkel had a conniption? You would think he was doing them a favor by removing the troops but no Germany pleaded with him to not go through with the plan until Biden came along and rejected the plan. But the commenter said America is paying to keep their bases in countries to assert dominance both financially and selected assistance. In the case of Germany what dominance is the US asserting both financially and selectively. How is asserting dominance a mutual alliance when only one country benefits?
