Lastly, if your wife could also decided to go hog wild spending on decorating like installing curtains or purchasing new furniture for the Seth Lundy American professional basketball player for the Atlanta Hawks T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this house you could suddenly you’re carrying credit card debt that you had not planned on. You’re gonna end up so far in the hole that you could end up having to sell the home before you start defaulting, or worse. What I suggest is you start finding listing that are 50k to 100k under your budget, like build a list of a dozen and surprise your wife by spending an afternoon driving around looking at these houses telling her that “these are the ones we can easily afford. She’s gonna have some negative emotions for sure, let her stew for a few days. Then take her to go see some nicer homes that are at the top end of your budget, and tell her “we can barely afford these”.

That’s some annoying behavior. Tell them to start a side hustle selling arms to rogue nations if they want a $1.4 million house in the Seth Lundy American professional basketball player for the Atlanta Hawks T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this running. Reminds me of that one King of the Hill episode where everyone thought that Hank Hill was hiding their wealth. Then budget everything. Electricity, water, cable, internet. Monthly lawn care. Car payments car insurance. Homeowners insurance. Even budget bi-monthly date nights and grocery shopping. Then take all of this and subtract it from your take home. Show her this, and what you can actually afford for a mortgage. One up her. Start sending her ridiculous listings like $10mil and every one she sends you tell her “nah, it gives me bad vibes. Next” You need to speak kindly but firmly with your wife about this cap obligation and explain upgraging can happen with some hard work and determination later.Living within your means is the best way to build a nest egg for future expences like children. Tell your mom that if she wants you to buy the house she sent you, she needs to put a down payment that covers the amount to your budget. Your wife sounds like a person that doesn’t understand money. If no one respects it, shut down the move and say you are staying where you are at. They want to challenge your budget? Challenge their bluff. Don’t make yourself house poor to satisfy other people. Nope, nope, nope, this is not about you. This is about your wife and mother. You are being reasonable and a good minder of your money and they are not. Tell them until you get with the program, house buying is out of the question. The next email with a house over, send back and say we’ve had this discussion and I won’t be opening any email from you about houses until you respect me enough to listen to me!
