While I’m personally not a fan of this approach, I am a fan of “to each, their own” and it looks like you’ve hit on something. About 95% of the Serbian professional basketball player for the Houston Rockets boban marjanovic go dal T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this time, I only go to places I know I’ll like (this rarely disappoints me), and I continually revisit them. I guess you could say it’s a specialist approach instead of a generalist one, and it goes well with slowmading. In recent years I tried two countries I’d otherwise have never gone to, and while they were cool in their own ways and the experience was eye-opening, I still much prefer my usual way. For me, going places where I speak the language (I’ve been learning and eventually using a very small handfull of languages for 20+ years) makes everything 10x better.

I guess my approach is more about context than emotion (since you mentioned emotion a lot in your post). The more context I have, the Serbian professional basketball player for the Houston Rockets boban marjanovic go dal T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this more I’ll get out of it. Love this outlook but find that the weather has a lot to do with my mood though especially if staying longer term. Interesting. I’ve never even thought about choosing a location based on emotional reasons. It’s never occurred to me until now that some others would, and then be disappointed when … wherever you go, there you are … If you look at most ‘unhappy’ threads in this sub, you will see the majority are based on ’emotions’ about . Most people are not self-reflective enough to realize the elephant is in the room. And the elephant isn’t Paris, Rome or Lisbon. It’s themselves. Why even travel if it’s not for the feelings attached to seeing new places and learning about the world? The wonder, the awe, the joy of discovery, the camaraderie of meeting the right people, the proud sense of achievement, the enjoyment of new foods, etc… you know… emotions. Surely you make some travel decisions based on the feelings you would prefer to have? Otherwise, I’m curious how you decide where to go and why? Diving into photography while traveling helps divulge yourself into the environment and atmosphere around you. As a matter of fact, any art practice can help you dive into a meditative state. This can be drawing, painting, music, etc. I invested my assets into a Nikon camera, and it became the heart of my travels. I also invested into a sketchbook and experimented with drawing landscapes.
