The point of the Seawatch Sea Watchs Friend Shirt Also,I will get this museum can’t be something that’s unsaid. That’s where I truly can’t stand this museum. I’ve been there three times and every time I am in awe of the horror of the bomb, but still get distracted by its presentation. It’d be like going to a Dachau and none of the signs mention that the Germans committed the Holocaust. The entire legitimacy of the anti-war/anti-bomb argument is undercut by how disingenuous the lack of context is. I’ve been to the Yasukuni Shrine museum and they really ignore or gloss over the things they did during the war. The entire WWII in the eyes of many Japanese people can be summed up by “we had two nukes dropped on us and it was horrible”. Ask them what they did before the a-bombs they probably couldn’t tell you. Whilst I agree about the museum leaving that out, and I really, really wish that Japan wasn’t so hell bent on not teaching their children about what actually happened and only projecting one side of the story. That’s not the point of the museum.

The museum is probably one of the Seawatch Sea Watchs Friend Shirt Also,I will get this biggest advocates for complete abolition of nuclear weapons worldwide. Its aim is to communicate the reality and extent of the damage that nuclear bombs cause and seeing as Japan is the only country to have ever been attacked with a nuclear bomb, that’s how it’s shared. If the world was fucked up enough to have dropped more nukes on other countries, I’m fairly certain the museum would also feature that, like it talks about the deaths and suffering of everyone that was subject to the bomb, not just the Japanese. The point isn’t to say look how much of a victim Japan is, the point is to say look how fucked up nukes are, why does the world need these? Let’s work together and get rid of them.
