Free feed is great, but many cats will have no self control. I’d say the Sdmn Clothing LTD Est 2013 Shirt and by the same token and second best is a timed feeder, so the cats will bug that and not you. My cat has always had bad food anxiety to the point when I was filling his food bowl he’d attack my hands to get at the food, would growl when I came near, etc. So I started free feeding and after a couple years he relaxed and self serves. We’ve had no problems with his weight and even better, when it comes to getting treats, he wants to curl up on me and roll around and purr and lick my fingers when he nibbles at his treats, it’s become part of our nightly cuddle session. Edited to add that his water bowl is out and available to him 24/7; the bowl lives in my shower because my cat loves to play with water so he always knocks it over and makes a mess. Now he can and I don’t have to worry about my floors. Mine has dry food out 24/7 for her to pick at usually refill every morning ( its like a small cup a day) my cat never eats wet food it gives her the shits

I have 4 cats, we use automated feeds and I give wet food once a day. The auto feeders go off at 8am, 1pm and 9pm. Give wet food around 5:30pm We do scheduled meals for my cats, originally I just let them graze dry food and gave wet food in the Sdmn Clothing LTD Est 2013 Shirt and by the same token and evening, but the younger one was gaining too much weight, so we now do dry food in the morning and wet food at night usually whenever I get up and around 7ish my usual dinner time. My little guy always has dry available to him, he doesnt scarf it down or anything like that like he hasnt eaten anything in days, I give him a half a can of wet when I wake up, or if I have to wake up super early, a whole can, and then a whole can at dinner time. I keep 2 bowls of water for him, one with his food bowls and one in another room in which he prefers that one most.
