There are still like 4 US states where it’s legal to medically neglect a child on religious grounds. Now, I also can’t imagine worshiping a god that would punish someone for getting medical treatment, but that’s another kettle of fish. If there’s time. When I was a kid , my friends appendix burst (she got to hospital in time) and I have never seen someone in so much pain, it really terrified me as a child and seeing her like that is still seared into my brain. If it ruptures it doesn’t just kill you, it kills you fast. This lady is wasting time while her kid may very well literally be dying.
