Went to Iceland this recent January, somehow we ended up going to the Schools Out For Summer Last Day Of School Teacher End Of School Sunglasses Retro T-Shirt Also,I will get this Blue Lagoon the one week it was open before and after 2 volcano eruptions Stumbled across a pigeon market taking place in a gap in the Theodosian walls in Istanbul that only takes place like one Sunday per month or something like that. Was a neat find. I had to get a flight from Belgrade to London, with a connection in Copenhagen. Unfortunately, the plane departed Belgrade 2 hours late, and that meant the 2 hour conmection time given at Copenhagen evaporated. Once we reached Copenhagen, we found out that the connecting flight ALSO had a delay of 2 hours. So me and some others who were also making the connection were not stranded in Denmark overnight. I was on my way from Hamburg to Krakow, and everything that could go wrong did. No flights, and the trains were out because Deutsche Bahn was on strike. My only shot was hitching a ride to Berlin on BlaBlaCar, then catching a Flixbus to Poland. But luck wasn’t on our side—the driver missed an exit, and we ended up losing 40 minutes. By the time we hit Berlin around 23:30, I had less than half an hour to catch my bus. The driver was sure I’d miss it.

With no other buses until 3 a.m., I braced myself for a long, cold night at the Schools Out For Summer Last Day Of School Teacher End Of School Sunglasses Retro T-Shirt Also,I will get this station. But then, the driver, instead of just dropping me off, invited me over to her place to wait out the time. It was totally unexpected. She made me feel at home, cooked for me, and we ended up dancing to music from my country, which I shared with her. It was such a warm, genuine gesture from a stranger, particularly a lady staying alone to invite a guy that she had just met. Looking back, I’m really grateful for that night, and I created a Spotify playlist just for her, I think of her sometimes. We were in Siatista Greece tracing my roots. My great grandfather was an iconographer in some of the Unesco cathedrals in the Peloponese and someone in my genealogy group said that the last name dated back to iconographers in the area during the 16th century and reasonable to assume they were my people since those trades got passed down. Anyway we get to town, we don’t know where to go, but need to use a bathroom so we go the the open school and I ask about the churches. And the man says why do you want to see them? So I told him our story and he makes a call and says “Go up to the big church on the hill. So we do. The man in the big church says the one church is closed right now but open for liturgy at 2pm. The other church is being worked on because of earthquake damage but here is the key. Have a look and bring it back when you finish. So we walked to the church and got a little lost so I asked an elderly fellow in a car. He says its very close, I will take you there and anyone who doesn’t fit in the car can just follow behind. So we get there and it’s a tiny little church filled with frescoes behind some scaffolding but you can still see everything. It was special and amazing. But then, when we walked out the gentleman waited for us and said, if you have time I’d love to offer some wine. Turns out he is one of the few winemakers who make list, a sweet wine made of dried grapes, and so we learned about that as well. It was the most magical day that you simply couldn’t plan.
