I personally think as a southerner that Birmingham has a huge population concentrated in a poorly designed city. Last time I went someone came up randomly and made a racist remark to my partner. In the Scary Clown Horror Shirt What’s more,I will buy this middle of the day. I just find it a bit chavvy? I’ve never experienced anything else like that, apart from just outside Birmingham with the stares from old people. The problem is they can’t decide where the ground floor is. You start at a new street platform , go up a floor, go up again. Now either you go out at McDonald’s, or you walk over the top of tk maxx. Now you are on floor 2 of bullring, so you walk out and go to the ground floor of Primark. Then you go down to floor -2 and walk out to moor street. Then you go to the Chinese quarter ,but go the wong way, so you are on floor 1 of another car park.

I think, as people have already said, the postwar rebuild of Birmingham was not great, especially with all the underpasses that made for easy road traffic, but terrible for pedestrians, certainly didn’t help. I always found the Brummies a friendly lot, but their accent I found laughable. I also think that for the size of it, it’s quite a provincial town really, with Manchester being a lot better. Sadly, I never considered living in Brum post Uni and I think that was mainly because of the general lack of attractiveness of the cit
