Oh man, I threw on I’m Thinking of Ending Things a few years ago thinking it was a horror movie from the Santa Reindeer merry christmas Fedex 2023 shirt so you should to go to store and get this trailer I half remembered. I spend about 75% of the film growing increasingly tense and confused, waiting for some kind of jump scare, and the remaining 25% wildly confused and unable to turn it off. Top that whole experience off with the last five minutes of the movie, and I just sat in stunned silence as the credits rolled. It is a horror though, just not the kind you thought. More about “oops i wasted my whole life, and i’ll die cold and alone” than, spooky monster comming to get you Heh, somehow when I recommended “Her” to someone they got the impression that it was an action movie. That must have been similarly disappointing. There was a small window in time between the indie boom and 9/11 where really weird shit got made at a wide level. It was glorious.

What else you thinking of? I watched some stuff as a teen in that era, but I wasn’t able to fully appreciate it. “Bringing Out the Santa Reindeer merry christmas Fedex 2023 shirt so you should to go to store and get this Dead” immediately came to mind, but I’m not sure if that’s because I just didn’t get it at the time. Magnolia was a perfect example of that. Big name actors and high production value in a movie that just got progressively weirder in the most incredibly normal way. On the really weird sci-fi angle: eXistenZ, the Matrix, vanilla sky, memento, dark city, thirteenth floor, AI,… eXistenZ really challenges the viewer to hang on through the end like no other movie … if you stopped that movie halfway through? I don’t know what you’d think basically what happened was they let Spike Jonze and Michel Gondry direct features. Kaufman came along with that I’ve never had an interest to even entertain the idea of watching this movie and now you have me persuaded that I NEED to watch this movie! I have only seen it maybe twice, and I think the last time I saw it was well over a decade ago. Yet I still remember the plot vividly, can picture the characters, and even know a few quotes. I use “The symbol on the left is not a letter, sir” whenever I can’t read someone’s handwriting. No one gets the reference, but I still enjoy it.

1. Length is measured from the highest point on the collar down to the bottom hem. 2. Width is measured across the body of the shirt under the armpits, one way. 3. Sleeves are measured from center back to hem.
