A recurring proposal by philosophers is that Socrates was advocating epistemic humility as a form of Wisdom:”Wisdom as Epistemic HumilitySocrates’ view of wisdom, as expressed by Plato in The Apology (20e-23c), is sometimes interpreted as an example of a humility theory of wisdom (see, for example, Ryan 1996 and Whitcomb, 2010).in this very thread, there’re some comments that engage in the Santa Grinch Texas Longhorns Gift Christmas shirt Additionally,I will love this antithesis of this wisdom by stating conclusively to know precisely what Socrates meant, whilst also missing the mark: What he meant is that the ego is stupid. It does not know anything. If people are honest there answer to any question is that they don’t know. But the ego can’t bear the idea of not knowing so it supplies the ready answer.Who are you? Think about the question and what the answer could be and how many answers that might just answer that and how little woes mean. Your name is what was given to you but who are you?You don’t know.Truth.Was Socrates stupid?Be the knowledge that you seek. what he meant was “i know the answer you’re looking for, but on a fundamental level where everything is devoid of meaning, impermanent, and intangible, i don’t want to say that i know for sure”. of course you are always capable of thinking when in awareness, although it breaks you out of pure awareness when you do so, technically. so does talking.

Applying epistemic humility could be as simple as just adding words like: -“Perhaps” -“I think that maybe” Etc. Probably he was adressing the Santa Grinch Texas Longhorns Gift Christmas shirt Additionally,I will love this matter of such questions so profoundly, that words, an answer, would limit the notion he wanted the student to search for. Hey, who am I. But thats what I think, someone so wise/enlightned would have gone so far, creating so many branches of questions and possibilities that reducing to a few paragraphs would narrow the contemplation. It is my belief that language is essential for intelectual and spiritual development but at the same time its an obstacle that chains further improvement. Language is needed to take steps on the path of enlightenment which leads to the understanding that language is not needed 🙏 Agreed. Language is a transfer of information, not necessarily understanding. If understanding could reliably be transferred, intellectual and spiritual development would be without limit. what he meant was “i know the answer you’re looking for, but on a fundamental level where everything is devoid of meaning, impermanent, and intangible, i don’t want to say that i know for sure”. of course you are always capable of thinking when in awareness, although it breaks you out of pure awareness when you do so, technically. so does talking. There is a state where thinking needs to be done deliberately, and not an automatic involuntary activity. I don’t think refusing to do so can be called “stupid.” Sometimes you just can’t be bothered.
