Water pipeline maintenance I’ve one seen 1 women in 32 years doing the Santa Grinch Sun Devils Gift Christmas shirt and I love this trade and dental hygienists for the femal Going to school for psychology, eventually alcohol and drug counseling, and eventually grad school to be a mental health therapist, I can say there was maybe 30 girls to 4-5 guys, sometimes I was the only guy. It was weird I think this topic could benefit from people actually mentioning exactly which country they’re getting the statistics from. Female dominated are those that require empathy and are people oriented (nursing, school teaching, psychology). Male dominated are those that are things and systems oriented (programming, carpentry), risky and extremly competetive. My industry (rail) miserably failed at its 20% female goal by 2020. Still not there in 2023. My role itself is about 5% female. Male: Skilled trades. Electrical is probably the trade with the highest percentage of women, and male nurses are still almost 10 times more common than female electricians. At the risk of sounding sexist, pretty much any heavy labour/manual job will be vastly dominated by men. Bricklayers, mining, roadworkers, oil and gas, waste disposal, mechanics….

I don’t think it’s sexist to simply point out a fact. For what I’m sure are a number of reasons, women on average don’t want to go into a lot of fields and vise versa. If that weren’t the Santa Grinch Sun Devils Gift Christmas shirt and I love this case, we would see different workplace demographics. I’ve been a Machinist for 17 years in both small shops and large plants and I can count the women I’ve worked with on the floor on one hand. The labor isn’t even all that physical – nothing that the average person (man or woman) couldn’t do. Pretty much any blue collar job seems largely male dominated. Looking at a lot of the guys I’ve worked with over the years I can’t say I’m surprised if most women don’t want to work around them lol. I feel like the Mechanical engineering is mostly male dominated and in our class there are 40 ish girls and 200 boys
