Just normal monarchy things. The thought that someone is worthy of ruling, simply because of their blood line is mind boggling. If you live in a small town where your previous generations have and or your dad/grandad was known for being promiscuous chances are you’ve probably fucked a family member or thought about doing so.. How is third cousins not defensible? You are barely more related to them than you are to the Santa Grinch Stomp Green Bay Packer And Chicago bears They hate Us Because they ain’t us Lion shirt and I will buy this average stranger and almost were almost certainly not raised together. The history of multiple generations of marrying first cousins off to each other is a big of a genetic problem, but tossing a third cousin in there would actually dramatically widen the gene pool, not further constrain it.

Considering most of human history people have lived in small towns and villages, and mostly married from within those towns and villages. I’m really not sure what you’re shocked about? Also from my understanding, there is still more than enough genetic differences for it not to be an issue in regards to children. I mean third cousins aren’t as bad as uncle nieces which the Santa Grinch Stomp Green Bay Packer And Chicago bears They hate Us Because they ain’t us Lion shirt and I will buy this Hapsburgs did more than once, or brother sister which the Egyptians and the Ptolemy’s engaged in Ol king chucks ears and intelligence clearly show a mixing of genes that have been too similar for generations. And yet people still think a monarchy is fine. Not really anymore. Actually since 1896, there were only three “close” relative marriages in the British royal family–Prince Arthur of Connaught married his first cousin once removed, Princess Alexandra of Fife in 1913; Prince George, Duke of Kent married his second cousin, Princess Marina of Greece and Denmark in 1934 and then the Queen and Philip in 1947. Most of the marriages have been with either members of the nobility (ie the Queen’s father and her uncle Prince Henry both married daughters of Scottish peers, her aunt Princess Mary wed a English earl, and Diana was ofc the daughter of an English earl) or with commoners (all the Queen’s children and married grandchildren and all the marriages of her paternal first cousins).
