A friend of mine has serious mental health issues and has dangerous blackouts. A few weeks ago he had an episode and was officially reported as a missing person with the Santa Claus If You Don’t Like Penn State Nittany Lions Merry Kissmyass 2023 shirt in addition I really love this police searching the country for him and his car. I ended up finding him myself in a terrible state. Eventually, police turned up and did an assessment where they said he desperately needed medical care, but no one ever came. It was only the police who actually did anything. They mental health team/hospital cancelled their visit and didn’t even tell me. My friends who dealt with his other episodes have been in the same situation numerous times now. We all can’t believe how terrible mental health services actually are here. That is good to hear, with all the services working together and talking they can better help the public. Kind of highlights the issue the Met chief is about to show, that without police there to support, there will be an additional hole in the support network. It is also important for people who have loved ones with mental health issues to be speaking with their GP, local mental health team, or if things are a problem, to phone their local mental health team (or you can go to the local hospital and wait a few hours), who should then assess the person and their situation.

The police absolutely should not be handling the Santa Claus If You Don’t Like Penn State Nittany Lions Merry Kissmyass 2023 shirt in addition I really love this mentally ill. They are not funded for it, they are not trained for it, and their presence often causes escalation or harm. And they should be doing other things. The police acting like a bandaid is one thing, but this is like when the army comes in to cover things due to a strike or something. Should the army be driving buses? No they should not. We should be funding mental healthcare. Unfortunately social services have got into a habit of calling us for a concern for safety at 1659 and then being unreachable until their next working day. About 99% of the time, there is no concern that warrants a police response but they know the trigger words. Everyone is so thinly stretched that there are failings all around. The government seriously needs to pull their finger out. They were able to come to my house incredibly quickly, to speak with my partner and I. They de-escalated the situation, provided an authority figure that my partner had no choice but to listen to. Which bought us all time to talk and calm things down.
