(Also the Santa Claus Bad Decisions Good Times Christmas shirt Also,I will get this 40 minutes comment is kind of wack, you can set a timer to meditate in only a couple of seconds. Set it and focus on your breath or walking. You can meditate while getting into your preferred meditation position. This comes across a bit whiny like you are ignoring the root messages when they annoy you) Totally agree!!! I’m a certified meditation teacher and I do 20 minutes most days, with the occasional longer sit maybe only once a month. If I’m really busy I default to 12 minutes – I know about that study as well. I think the ideal of long sits every day is B.S. and a huge barrier for people living in today’s busy world. The traditions for meditating came out of a society and a time when there were different demands. People who chose to be monastics could spend hours a day meditating because that was their lifestyle. It’s not how we live now. I get frustrated when I see Redditors telling people that they aren’t really serious it if they aren’t spending hours a day at it – some say 1 hour twice a day etc…. I’m all, no. That’s not necessary or realistic. Thank you for raising this!
Santa Claus Bad Decisions Good Times Christmas shirt details
I have twin 6 year old boys. I do ten minutes a day at best. On the Santa Claus Bad Decisions Good Times Christmas shirt Also,I will get this rare occasion I can do a 10 minute session and a 30 minute session, totaling 40 minutes a day. Being judgmental towards yourself or others about how much time one gets to meditate is itself a thought, a judgement, something to be looked at. Why does it matter how much as long as you experience benefits? I fit in my ten minutes a day and it has been a game changer. I am getting benefits from that little bit of mindfulness meditation. Went from wanting alcohol to deregulate and calm myself to telling my wife to stop buying beer at Costco, and barely even wanting alcohol even in social situations. I’ve also been able to recognize my anger faster, calm myself, and be a better parent all with ten minutes a day. Do you think someone who meditates 10 minutes a day and some longer sessions here and there cannot have a spiritual breakthrough? What if they infuse spiritual practices into their life when they are not meditating?
as u/snowcap_1 pointed out already, I don’t think meditation is the Santa Claus Bad Decisions Good Times Christmas shirt Also,I will get this only and/or the most effective practice (for everybody) to gain spiritual enlightment. In German, we have a saying that is called (literal translation) “Many ways lead to Rome.” The meditative state is something you can practice throughout the day while going on with your life, not only by sitting down in a quiet space That’s advice for beginners. If someone follows this advice for years and doesn’t figure out where it comes from, and what’s beneficial for them, they seriously need to look at the technique, not the time spent.

How to buy this Santa Claus Bad Decisions Good Times Christmas shirt
Inside is a piece of paper that reads “I quit” in 82 pt font in landscape. Employee number underneath in 5pt font. “Ah, ah, I almost forgot….I’m also going to need you to go ahead and come in on Sunday, too. We, uhhh, lost some people this week and we sorta need to play catch-up. Mmmmmkay? Thaaaaaanks.” Damn it feels good to be a gangster. (I know that song is in a different scene, but I always associate it with this.) Not gonna lie. It’s been awhile since I used a printer, and just used numbers from memory. I imagine you could improve upon what I stated quite easily if you wanted. “Employment“? We don’t feel like you get a paycheck until you talk to a manager or supervisor. At best. Between the Santa Claus Bad Decisions Good Times Christmas shirt Also,I will get this uniforms and overhead, you may actually owe us money at the end of the week. “here’s your mcbucks for this shift, remember they can only be used in the mcstore. No of course they don’t have any clothing without the logo are you stupid?” That shit is illegal, but they do it and get away with it because their employees are poor adults and young teenagers. Remember kids, the “two week notice” thing is only a thing if you want to use them as a reference. There is no law requiring it. They can make it policy all they want, but what are they gonna do if you don’t? Fire you?
I think that if you stop going to work they will eventually stop paying you, or maybe not which is even better. It’s way more of a PITA for the Santa Claus Bad Decisions Good Times Christmas shirt Also,I will get this employer. You have to document all attempts to contact, final is certified warning letter. I had a job when I was a kid and the manager was a total ass and mistreated everyone… I turned in my notice to the assistant manager but he “forgot” to tell the actual manager. I worked my two weeks and left. A week later, the manager called me up and said I needed to work because I hadn’t notified him directly… I asked him what the consequences were if I refused. He said I’d be fired. My response right before I hung up on him: “well, I guess me calling you a piece of shit won’t change things then” I used to work Catering as a lead server and after about 8 years there a new Manager was hired on that got her niece a job but her niece hated the fact that I wouldn’t do all the work for her (while simultaneously running two other functions in the building.) And complained to the Manager about how “lazy” I was. Manager tried to fire me without valid cause but HR overturned it because I was the only one qualified for a bunch of equipment we used. I wasn’t about to keep working under a hostile Manager though so I got a job and called in to quit two hours before the start of a huge event. Manager got fired for driving away competent staff.
I was a chef at a nice family restaurant (western style place) with a Bar and casual dining. Owner hired a person I was familiar with because I had worked with her in the Santa Claus Bad Decisions Good Times Christmas shirt Also,I will get this past. I told the owner that if he hired her I would quit. A week later he announced that he hired her as restaurant manager, and she would be starting in 2 weeks. I gave him my 2 week notice, he begged me to stay and couldn’t believe I would quit a job because he hired a new manager. I told him the horror stories about her and he didn’t believe me. About 2 months later he took a month long vacation (the reason for hiring a manager). While he was gone she turned the place into a Fine Dining restaurant with lace on the tables, cloth napkins. New uniforms for the staff and changed the menu to french gourmet. Owner gets back on a friday, the place is almost empty, 2 regulars at the bar. His inbox was stuffed full of complaints from customers from the last 3 weeks. Every employee put in notice to quit.
She was shocked he came in and fired her. The last 2 weeks sales were record lows (under 2k a day in a place that would normally do $15k a day 25k on the Santa Claus Bad Decisions Good Times Christmas shirt Also,I will get this weekends) and he was not able to make payroll without paying out of personal cash. Always crazy to me when management refuses to listen to employees like this. These nightmare hires must have crazy good interviewing skills to pull the wool over their eyes I guess. If I get in as a CEO of a big company, after it’s already big, even if my policies will drive it into the floor, I can jump ship early, or even get fired by the board (with a massive severance), and then for the rest of time, I can walk into interviews as “the former CEO of ___, during the good years”. CEO 2: “Wow everyone, that last guy sure was a jerk, huh? To prove we at [company] are listening, we’ll be partially rolling back those unpopular changes to the baseline we were originally going for anyway.”
In the Santa Claus Bad Decisions Good Times Christmas shirt Also,I will get this town I work in there was a chef from the late 80s to early 2000s that was a total piece of shit. Everyone in the industry hated him, he was a mean drunk and his food wasn’t really all that good. He kept getting all these cushy jobs because his girlfriend was friends with some rich people who owned a prestigious restaurant company. So he would get a job with them, eventually get fired for being an asshole, then off the strength of his resume from that job land another one. A few years would go by and the girlfriend would talk the restaurant group into rehiring him and repeat the cycle. He was the poster boy for failing upwards. 10yr industry veteran here, but what kind of narcissistic psychopath comes in off the street and completely changes the concept of a restaurant they don’t own without talking to the owner? This is borderline unbelievable because it’s the sort of thing that just doesn’t happen unless that person is just totally unhinged. Did she not have an operating budget? No P/L? And the owner just didn’t check his fucking voicemail/email for a month? This is just something that doesn’t happen
Easy Peezy I’m quite sure there was a business credit card that she had access to dude was only on vacation for a month. The statement hadn’t even made it back so I can totally see easily how she got away with it. What’s amazing is that dumbass let her be in charge after she just started. Honestly, like, 15% of people just always think they’re in charge, and it’s up to the Santa Claus Bad Decisions Good Times Christmas shirt Also,I will get this rest of us to keep them away from any situation where they might be unsupervised around things they could LARP being in charge of. Like Kurt von Hammerstein-Equord’s Rule. There are four classes of officer: clever, industrious, lazy and stupid. These are combined thus: clever/industrious, clever/lazy, stupid/lazy and stupid/industrious. The fourth category is the most dangerous, and must be kept away from any real responsibility. The clever/lazy are useful for supervising them; they’re smart enough to see the potential for damage, and being lazy they’d rather not have to repair things.
Ah, the Santa Claus Bad Decisions Good Times Christmas shirt Also,I will get this classic “new person comes in and fixes what ain’t broke” syndrome. And in the process, actually breaks it. It’s usually a new owner though, I’m surprised a manager thought she had the authority to do this. Similar thing happened to me. I was hired on to help “save” a dying restaurant. Had multiple years as a head chef. They were a poke restaurant that had all their “fresh” ingredients ordered in precut bags. Nothing like a card board tasting shredded carrot on my tuna poke bowl lol. I implemented simple solutions. Buy a grater and buy carrots in bulk, cucumbers, etc. the staff were all lazy and preferred the cut and pour method over actual restaurant prep. So, the entire staff hated me for the changes I was making. In the 6 months there I grew the sales from 800 a day to 2500 a day and growing. I brought in Boba and all sorts of other shit that brought in new customers. The owner was an idiot and fell for the drama created by his staff. I got tired of defending myself on a daily basis and finally decided that I had to bring up the staffing issue. Saying your employees are lazy we need to clean house and start over if you want these changes to succeed. The gm was the laziest bitch and acted like my mortal enemy. I said it’s her or me, and I promise if you choose her you will last 2 more years tops. He chose her, I moved on, and they closed their doors for good 8 months later. Some owners are just dumb. You can lead a horse a water so they say.
I literally had a coworker get caught stealing out of my coat on camera and the Santa Claus Bad Decisions Good Times Christmas shirt Also,I will get this owner wouldn’t fire him. Suspended him for two weeks. Everything went back to normal for about 2 months, then a bunch of change was stolen from my car, with no cameras watching faculty parking, for some reason. Told the boss it was either the same guy or now he’s employing two thieves, and I wasn’t coming to work unless someone was fired for theft. He told me I was being unprofessional and needed to put my two weeks in. Needless to say, I told him to get bent and never went back. It’s amazing how spineless alot of restaurant owners are. I could tell horror stories for hours after 15 years in food service. I am always stunned when someone tells me they are going into restaurant management. Like “what is wrong with you?” A lot of the incompetent, the irresponsible, and the narcissistic, seem to be attracted to that field.
Me quitting was the Santa Claus Bad Decisions Good Times Christmas shirt Also,I will get this cause of a Big Apple gas station location shutting down in a similar way. The manager was horribly incompetent at her job, she would recant stories about her and her son doing crack and jumping out of trucks, couldn’t even spell her title and proved it by leaving hand written notes that would end with “As per the manger” in full view of customers and employees alike. After a few months of putting in 40+ hour weeks for $8/hr to do my job as the only employee on shift for 8-10 hours a day, I’d have to find time to fill out her reports and send them to corporate signed in as her on her computer because she didn’t want to show up 4 out of 7 days a week. Eventually I ended up breaking a toe quite impressively (even the x-ray technician was impressed, he’d never seen a pinky toe break the way mine had, it was so broken it couldn’t be set and is messed up to this day) at home and she shifted me to third shift and got pissy and tried to give me shit over seeing me with my leg elevated on the safe and reading a newspaper at like 02:30-02:40 when it was completely dead and my major work was caught up and I still had another 4 hours to go on the shift. So I just took off my oversized purple shirt and tossed it at her, saying “I quit, I’m not paid enough for your crackhead shit” grabbed my stuff and limped home and fired off a few emails detailing just a fraction of the racist comments she directed at a former employee she had fired and her crack stories and within seven days the store was without a manager, a month later it was closing down because no one wanted to manage that location lol.
Sounds about right. A shitty manager can wreck a good place and demoralize the Santa Claus Bad Decisions Good Times Christmas shirt Also,I will get this competent staff in no time. I’ve seen it happen too often I didn’t quit! I never talked to the restaurant manager and they just stop putting me on the schedule when I didn’t show up for two weeks Edit: many people have pointed out that unemployment would not pay out just because you didn’t technically quit I worked in my state unemployment office for a year; it would be considered a quit because you stopped going in of your own accord. Not talking to the manager is just a technicality and the unemployment office won’t really care, but we do contact the employer for their side as well (to confirm if it was a quit/fired/layoff).
That an interesting take. If you could prove that management policy is that you can’t quit then even if you just no show and apply for unemployment, you can say they fired you. They had to, because quitting isn’t allowed Lmaooo. I worked there way back in the Santa Claus Bad Decisions Good Times Christmas shirt Also,I will get this mid seventies when it was still quite new & novel in Toronto. I was 13yo (my ‘supervisor’ had just turned 17) and even though it was my first job, I knew something weird was up.The McDonald’s training films were almost like being indoctrinated. They wanted you IN,, all the way. It was like they wanted it to be a damn religion (and I didn’t fall for that crap either so the Ronnie McD didn’t have a chance). They had special competitions, if you can believe it, to see who.was the absolute best at their position. Cashiers with the biggest smiles, the cheeriest “Please Come Again!!” and the quickest service. I mean these ridiculous little cheesy ‘games’ would work up to nationally competing against other locations across North America. WTAF? Employees would hold their ‘awards’ over others like it really meant something. It’s a goddamn disgusting-tasting burger joint. I quit after about 18 months of part-time work (and they made sure you worked hard!!) at about $1.50/hr. I left bc I had a summer job that paid $2.00/hr. It was more than my goofy supervisor,Brent, earned and he was furious at me for leaving and my new wage. He had the bloody nerve to tell me I was making a huge life mistake and I would regret this decision forever. I laughed and laughed….all the way to my mom’s Monte Carlo in the Mickey Dee’s parking lot and never looked back. And , Hey Brent– 50 years later & still No regrets!
It was the Santa Claus Bad Decisions Good Times Christmas shirt Also,I will get this in Regina in the 90s. I gave the pings I earned (assembled the fastest cheese burger, and big mac and scored 100% on a handful of pop quizes for various stations) to my uncle who collected McDonald’s shit. When I worked at McDonalds about a decade ago (Woah, it’s really been that long) my manager would chain smoke out the back door and then she got fired for coming into work drunk one morning. Okay, sure. But if I knew they’d let me live out my kink at work, then I’m not going to wanna quit anyways. Kind of a paradox Used to work at grocery that had a small “hill” in the back. If you and a co-worker had beef you took it to shit hill. Fond memories. Sounds you belong to a certain club, and like you’re breaking rule number 1. You shouldn’t be talking about it. IKR? It’s like hearing about bosses ‘not accepting’ a two week notice. I once had a guy quit by writing’I quit!’ on his time card. What are you gonna do? It’s a cheat code if you actually do quit they raise your pay and give you benefits and a good working environment to make you not want to quit lol I tried to type up some wholesome thing where people would just say “I quit” and walk off the job, but were just mad and still needed the job therefor this sign is saying we don’t accept you quitting till you make it official. IE trying to not take everything people say in the heat of the moment as fact.
It’s probably not that though and they try to keep people from walking out, and abuse the Santa Claus Bad Decisions Good Times Christmas shirt Also,I will get this shit out of them while fucking with the workers without providing a change in environment that would benefit the workers. Probably works too on teenagers with their first jobs. Last year sometime I saw a post of a 16 yo who said he tried to quit subway and his manager told him no. He was worried he would need a “good reference” later so he just kept working and wanted advice. The point of the sign is to make people think “they have to” talk to the supervisor. I’m sure talking to the supervisor is already a process that isn’t instant. So you’ll have to sit and brew in your anger/frustration but know there is at least some resolution in the future (whether it means your quit or not). At minimum McDonald’s could extend your time working. At best, you being isolated and trying to justify your anger/frustration days later would make you back off and go back to compliance because it’s easier.
They never take you off the Santa Claus Bad Decisions Good Times Christmas shirt Also,I will get this schedule, and call you when you don’t show up, and send you letters when you don’t answer, or disconnect the phone. This is followed by police coming to your house to check on if you’re okay. Then later to arrest you for disappearing and making them worry so much. >:C I saw a post on Reddit similar to that once. Iirc the person called in sick and was ignoring calls and texts from their employer, so the employer decided to harass them by sending cops for a wellness check. Doesn’t surprise me. It’s an uncommon copypasta used in made up Reddit stories, but I wouldn’t put it past it having actually happened either. Hahaha. We can’t find a way to make our employees want to work in this shit hole. So we’ll just tell them they can’t quit.
Hilariously, this sticker alone would be a reason to quit in the Santa Claus Bad Decisions Good Times Christmas shirt Also,I will get this middle of my first shift. Yes, I just worked a couple hours for those fucks but only to maximize the chaos when I walk out. lol this sign is asking for the most creative ways to quit. This the kind of restaurant that makes people hire a band to sing a quitting song, roll out a red carpet and have a limo waiting. Nope but you can post it. I’m not normally contrary for the sake of contrariness but this would make me so much more likely to just quit for any number of reasons. Hopefully they aren’t posting it next to the mandatory “employment at will” signs because it might get confusing. I’m not even sure you can do that. I’d be surprised if it’s legal anywhere in the U.S. to knowingly post objectively false labour information.) It’s not legal, it’s just a tactic to keep people in line! I’d walk out the door any damn time I felt like it! What are they going to do? Call Ronald McDonald on me? They are not saying they are going to restrain someone from walking off the job, but they also don’t consider that a resignation. Where as other jobs take the view if you walk off the site keep on walking. If someone walks away and doesn’t come back eventually they’ll be marked as job abandonment and processed as quitting.
