You need to talk to this person and tell them to cut contact now, because not addressing it makes you an enabler of this behavior. They’d be going lower if it were legal. Creepy and predatory af. I think it would even classify as grooming since he’s approached her as a minor and made advances. He either wants to date a teenager because they are typically easier to manipulate and exploit or he actually just likes minors based on his “gentleman wait until they’re 18” comment. That comment is an extra red flag because it showed he wasn’t even trying to imply that she would be adult and mature enough to be in a relationship. He was just praising himself for not committing statutory rape. Any time someone asks “Is it weird that….” on this sub, the Santa Butt If you don’t like Tennessee Titans merry kissmyass christmas Shirt Apart from…,I will love this answer, a high percentage of the time, is “YES, IT’S WEIRD”. That’s gross. And very conceited to think an 18-year-old would want to date a 35-year-old. When I was 18 I thought mid-30s was one foot in the grave and already dead inside-old. Tell him this. “You may not see a problem here, but HR will. And you will lose your job. Also, surprise, the 17 year old is probably not that into you.” Yes it’s very weird. Didn’t even read the post. I’m 30 and turn away 20 year old girls at the bar. They are at two different points in there lives.

You need to have a serious conversation with him where you inform him why it’s creepy and tell him that it bothers you to the Santa Butt If you don’t like Tennessee Titans merry kissmyass christmas Shirt Apart from…,I will love this extent that you will end your years-long friendship over it. If that doesn’t wake him up, nothing will. It probably won’t because he sounds like a typical creep. Its called grooming a minor. You both are probably in it for different reasons. It would be hard to be there for each other psychologically. A good rule of thumb is to divide the oldest persons age in half, then add 7. That should be the minimum age of the younger person. It’s definitely inappropriate and creepy. His inability (or unwillingness) to relate to women his own age suggests a significantly sexual/controlling interest to me.
