This is an incredibly specific and really eerie to see because I’m working on something for a franchisee based in LA and I was recently trying to see just how big LA county is and realized it’s bigger than all but nine states in the San Diego State Aztecs 2023 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament March Madness Elite Eight Team sport shirt Furthermore, I will do this country (excluding California, obviously). Based in 2020 census data the only states that are larger are Texas, Florida, New York, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Ohio, Georgia, birth Carolina, and Michigan. This is a symptom of a greater sickness. There’s a reason people want to live in LA and not bumfuck somewhere, Kansas and the like. At the same time, that same reason is why the EC is so difficult for democrats. Bumfuck-Somewherians who may have never seen anyone who doesn’t look like them (except for TV) have a chokehold on the country…and they are so easy to manipulate. Or why people stuffed into a small space all seem to think similarly. I’d rather live on a couple hundred acres in bumfuck than a 500 sq ft studio

Hence, the San Diego State Aztecs 2023 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament March Madness Elite Eight Team sport shirt Furthermore, I will do this Electoral College. Just imagine being governed by the whims of either the east or west coast. What a nightmare that would be. Only reason Illinois isn’t blue is because of Chicago. They’ve got an almost equal population to the entire rest of the state iirc A 100-mile radius of Los Angeles County and its neighboring counties represents ~50% of California’s population. What’s also cool to note is how the entire population of California is bigger than the whole entire country of Canada. If you include the greater LA area it’s almost 19 million people (Ventura, San Bernardino, Riverside County, and Orange County). That’s a lot. This is why we have the Connecticut Compromise. While the House is based on population, the Senate always has two members per state. This isn’t why we have the Connecticut compromise, it’s why the Connecticut compromise is outdated. No region was anywhere close to this disproportionately unrepresented at the time the Constitution was written. Pictures like this make you realize how fucking stupid the blue state/red state presidential election maps are.
