Oh boy I love being advertised to during every waking hour and I can’t wait until they figure out how to advertise to me in my dreams The article makes it sound like they’re doing it for the Ryan Ellis American professional stock car racing driver T-Shirt in contrast I will get this operating system – but it’s because of how much user data Vizio has. They’ve been collecting for years and are some of the best at it. Some apps you use on your phone go directly to Vizios stockpile of data A year or more ago, Vizio did an update to some older TV’s (like our Quantum X) that sends them to their awful Smartcast interface when the display has no input for a few minutes. My kids pull their Switch out of the dock, it doesn’t power the TV off, and a couple minutes later they’d be presented with ads for TV and Movies that are clearly meant for 18+. We don’t ever use that Smartcast interface, never created a login/account, and had no interest in ever using it. The fact that you couldn’t turn off that auto-Smartcast feature was really annoying, especially since they added it on in a firmware update without giving the user an option to turn it off. Won’t be buying a Vizio again, for that, and other reasons.

We have it on the Ryan Ellis American professional stock car racing driver T-Shirt in contrast I will get this network for the Airplay functionality, something that the kids used with an iPad and kids apps. Basically, we had the choice of no casting, buying an Apple TV device, or leaving the TV on the network to present movie options to our kids that shouldn’t be accessible without some sort of age verification or account. I dont have that model of tv, but my vizio has roku running on it which does have hidden debug menus that let you turn off things like that. Check if your tv has hidden menus accessible with button combos from your remote. TVs that have built in advertising shouldn’t exist. Never connect your smart TV to the internet and just use a content delivery device like Roku, xbox, etc. The 65″ OLED will only be $199, but you won’t be able to block the chyrons for Walmart running over every show.
