I can only assume that is all they have and it’s enough to keep them motivated, like a hobby. I equally find it difficult how people can summon this energy across health and fitness every waking day and hour if possible. The only part of working out I’ve enjoyed is feeling worn out afterwards. I have more fun excercising via yard work and house chores than with a bench and dumbbells. I’ve noticed more muscle gained that way, too. 4,964 more replies- writing down goals in a journal. It always helps when they aren’t weight loss goals and are more like “I want to be able to do 2 unassisted pull ups” or “I want to run 1 mile without stopping” – Set rewards associated with those goals, can be something big or small (I get to buy this pair of shoes I want, or I get to treat myself to my favorite coffee spot, etc.). – The first time you go, give yourself a reward. When I take long breaks and can’t get back into it, I often have to press reset, and go “okay, if I go this wednesday I can get myself chipotle after”. Then I’m more motivated to go again because my brain is associating a reward with going. – Use an app or a written journal to track exercises and weights used. Makes it super easy to progress further and its super motivating to check things off a list. After a while it just becomes habit and discipline, and I actually started to really enjoy it instead of viewing it as punishment. Gonna have to tough it out for more than a week to see results and build motivation/habit, that being said I’m struggling with that too
