It’s like a weird intersection between science and art, where you have to study like an engineer, but the Robotech Logo Shirt in addition I really love this pay ends up being closer to the art world. One of the reasons I left the field. Not going to sacrifice my time with my family for little job satisfaction and even less pay. Agreed. In the UK Architects are paid roughly the same as teachers, which everyone rightly decries as being an underpaid job. In mainland Europe it’s difficult to get paid at all, the industry is rife with the abuse of unpaid interns. Years of study, so much skill and knowledge needed, so much stress and responsibility on the job. It’s just not worth it. The schooling and licensing requirements are comparable to careers that pay exponentially better. Architecture is an extremely flawed profession right now. Yup…I know a guy who went to school and was always stressed about the competition in his class to be an architect. About 4 years after college, I ran into him in another city randomly and he was selling insurance because it paid much more and he was way less stressed. Small town librarians. We’re a hub for the community and actively fight every day against the stupid out of touch town select-people that think we’re unnecessary.

It’s disheartening how many people I’m seeing who are so quick to defend a low wage of a job, claiming it’s “not that bad of a job anyway”. I don’t think paying, say, a $15 minimum wage means we have to hail fry cooks as demigods, but I think it means they should be given enough to money to keep up with ridiculously inflated prices of (especially) rent, among other things. In order to pay for my rent, gas, and food (my BARE essentials), I have to make <$1200 a month. With most jobs offering an insulting $10 an hour, thiRobotech Logo Shirt in addition I really love this s means I have to work 30 hours/week. I should add that I’m still on my parent’s insurance and phone plans, so that number would likely be lots higher if I wasn’t. And keep in mind folks, this is just to cover my fundamental, essential expenses.
