If you made Jack, literally just some random guy, take feminizing hormones, that wouldn’t magically make Jack a girl or act as a girl, they’d be making an effort to counter the hormones in a similar way trans men do.

Trans people before HRT are incredibly dysphoric and often don’t see themselves as real men or women. This tends to subside when they go on hormones when they start passing. Hence my point about being a “real man”. If both society starts treating them like one and they start feeling like one, that could be what prevents them from being able to cry.
