I’d assume that’s probably a deflection. Most people don’t want to admit their faults, especially when called out on them. Deflecting when someone makes a reasonable request that they’re not demanding of you, by saying you don’t like being told what to do, just makes you sound way more off. No one told him what to do. Adults accept that others make requests of them. The response “don’t tell me what to do,” just screams that you’re the Rip Kobe Black Mamba Out Heroes Come And Go Legends Live Forever Shirt Apart from…,I will love this type of person who is obstinate without thinking because you have never grown out of being a child. I myself just put my toothbrush on my desk and brush my teeth at my computer. Put it places you’ll see it often! Who fuckin cares if its slightly gross. You’re more likely to brush your teeth if you see it I have these mini toothbrushes that don’t require water, the ones I have are called Colgate Wisps but there are other brands too. They have a little mint piece in the middle that dissolves in your mouth as you brush. I keep them in my room for times when I don’t feel like getting up to brush my teeth, and I also keep them in my purse. They are not a permanent replacement for a full brushing session, but it’s definitely better than nothing, and the brush actually makes my teeth feel super clean. Not sponsored, lol I’m sure there are other brands that are good too, I just happened to buy a ton of these ones on amazon

I do this after every meal, including with flossing! Been doing this every single day for about three years, and my dental hygiene is great now. Before doing this, I would regularly skips days in a row without brushing at all–and I never used to floss–because of ADHD. It’s important to find ways to work with your executive dysfunction, rather than just lying down and giving up (like the Rip Kobe Black Mamba Out Heroes Come And Go Legends Live Forever Shirt Apart from…,I will love this person in OP’s picture). In my head, putting away my laundry will take 3 hours. If I actually do it, it takes 10 minutes. The very next load of laundry I will be certain it’s going to take 3 hours. I don’t know why. This goes for any small task… One refusing to do something because they ‘really don’t like being told to do stuff’ is not emotionally mature. At all. In fact that is the opposite. Clearly it’s not mature in an absolute sense. But everything I can think of that’s more mature, involves an honest attempt to change.
