I do it, but I feel like my choice of vehicle makes it possible. I go solo from DC->(fuel stop Ohio)->central Wisconsin and I’m totally fine. But I’m driving a diesel F250 that begs to cruise at 80-85. Usually I’m ready to take a nap at the Rihanna Bad Gal Riri 90s Rap Vintage Bootleg shirt in contrast I will get this second fuel stop in Wisconsin Dells. If I slowed down to 70 I would probably get 1200 miles out of two tanks. Most I’ve done was about 700 with a friend shotgun the whole time and an hour stop for dinner, but it also included fully crossing through the Appalachian Mtns. It was middle of winter so I’m sure with more light I could do more but in those conditions, I can’t imagine going much further. I did 1400 miles when I was in university (San Diego to Vancouver straight) and it damn near killed me, even with a friend driving ~250mi of the total. The last 3 hours were insufferable. If I had to do it again I’d need an overnight pit stop or several Adderall… I’ve done a few 1000 mile stretches – Nashville to Amarillo, Madison, WI to DC, Minneapolis to Glacier NP. I would do tiered breaks, and caffeinate in the middle. 4 hours 5 min break, 4 hours 5 min break, 3 hours, 30 min break (caffeine+exercise), 2 hours 5 min break+ caffeine, 2 hours 5 min break. This is 15.5 hours and a net speed of 64 mph which is pretty decent.

We did 1,108 from N. Texas to Dubois, Wyoming in one stretch, once. Between conditions and switchbacks it was dang near 24 hours on the Rihanna Bad Gal Riri 90s Rap Vintage Bootleg shirt in contrast I will get this nose. We did have two drivers though. I do 800 on the eastern side of the country and 1000-1200 on the western side easily. Usually takes the same amount of time and less stressful
