I honestly couldn’t speak to how things are now. A few years back, I worked in social services and even amongst “professionals”, these attitudes weren’t just normalized, but baked into practices and procedures. I think if you worked in a field that regularly dealt with sexual violence and IPV like I did, you’d be shocked. While a majority of my IPV victims were men, there wasn’t a single service available for male victims. My first introduction to this was when I asked our DV shelter about getting help to this one guy. Even the “current” poster from that school in the article still implies that you can’t consent if you aren’t sober and that it’s sexual assault, but the question still stands if two equally drunk people have sex consensually.
