It wasn’t the Retro Vtg Mood Drinking Christmas Humor Parody Music shirt but in fact I love this OP on this thread, though, because we weren’t meeting in a car park, and also the lost kid was an annoying little shit. It was the eighties we had a lot more casual neglect. Combination of no adults and the dazzling lights of arcades. I was on a bus home from the hospital in Norwich. I’d gotten the long bus home that goes past some fields. The driver stopped in a random place, got out of his seat with a bag of carrots. He called a horse over who was by himself in the field. Took his time feeding and petting him. No one seemed to mind because it was so wholesome. Very country. Not quite the same, but about 10 years ago I was also on a bus that took a route through some countryside and it was the first snow of the year. The bus driver was a really sweet gentleman who stopped in quite a scenic spot in order to take photos of the snowy fields. I remember he had such a look of wonder and happiness on his face… was a very sweet moment. There were quite a number of people on the bus too and a lot were just watching and smiling.

This is what I’m like when I’m not depressed. It’s amazing how I can have two completely contradictory outlooks on life at the Retro Vtg Mood Drinking Christmas Humor Parody Music shirt but in fact I love this same time. Every now and then when it’s feeling generous the horse imparts a few horsepower to the bus. So you have to be kind to them and hope for the best. That’s exactly why I miss Norwich so much. Although my experience with local bus drivers is one stopping in the middle of nowhere, locking the doors and spending good ten minutes raging at a group of kids who kept dinging the stop button. That was a very good reason for an unscheduled stop tbf, everyone onboard was annoyed with those young a-holes. I regularly drive down a country lane near me (also in Norfolk) around 8.30am and see a bus pulled over with the driver out on the verge talking to some donkeys. This story qent from me wincing and being afraid something horrible or dark happened to it just being about a bus driver eating his dinner. I said oh no in my head then the ending wasn’t as bad as I thought just a hungry guy in a rural town taking the piss and not doing his job.
