But I hate how people in 2020 can’t take a joke. I swear, at the Retro It’s Not A Dad Bod It’s A Father Figure T-Shirt and I will buy this “peak of free speech”, we are super limited on what we’re allowed to say. We can’t joke about anything anymore. If we can’t laugh, what’s the point? When will Karen, boomer and “yo mama” jokes be banned because they’re offensive? I mean even worse than that, is that it will turn into actual political censor ship, people are getting punished for “racism” even tho there is no proof of actual racism… Disagreement can give you problems… This is actual censor ship at the moment There are social media accounts which specialize in doxxing, swatting and harassing people because “they’re racist”. Most of the time it’s satire. And people are ruining the lives of others for this. For any wondering, the point was that banning the subreddit about water because of a name should be many thousands of places lower on the priority list than subreddits that actually spout hate and intolerance. Not that the name should never have been addressed, or that it’s “totally cool to say the n-word as long as you’re memeing” or whatever (I have my own stances on that, but that’s not what the person you were conversing with was saying), it’s that that’s very obviously a PR move, and not one focused on reducing real problems, or else they would have gotten to the real issues first.

Personally, I’m fine with that, but can you explain why you haven’t banned The_Donald? You seem to be dodging that question all over this thread. Can’t have the Retro It’s Not A Dad Bod It’s A Father Figure T-Shirt and I will buy this n-word in the sub name, but you can spam the n-word and coordinate harassment so long as the people leading the sub slap you on the wrist a week after you do it. Their policy is We won’t go after the subreddits that promote an endless self-reinforcing cycle of alt-right dog whistling and racial divisiveness that lead to systemic hate problems on our site but we will ban subreddits that have a no-no word it them. A website that can be easily found in their sidebar. The Donald simply acts as a proxy to get people to go to their now openly racist main site. The entire subreddit needs to be banned.
