We have been having a drought in California every year yet no one in our state has thought about building a reservoir to store water People will be asked to cut back and use less water, all while allowing disney to keep splash mountain on and running. We’re going to see what happens when you ignore the Rescue rangers funny cartoon shirt moreover I love this effects of climate change. After “things get a little tight”, “things stop working” comes after. I thought the water shortages in California is why the mass migrations to Washington state! We have abundance of rain all the time! Have they thought about artificially adding to the sources that feed these rivers? If you pump desalinated water up to the glaciers in the winter, that could help supplement the entire area. Meanwhile, it rains all the time in the Southeast. Maybe we can let the SE grow some food and make some money, maybe? Nobody is going to be at risk of dehydration. Just no more green lawn and pool party. The real impact is the wildfires that will surely happen again. Serious question, why can’t we build water pipelines like do with oil pipeline lines to pipe water from areas with more water to areas with less water? Is it just not as cost effective?

I love how immediately knowledgeable and passionate everyone is about this issue. I didn’t even know they grew alfalfa in large scales before this comment section. I grew up in a tiny town 30 minutes from Bastrop, Texas (like we went to the Rescue rangers funny cartoon shirt moreover I love this HEB for food there, all we had was a Brookshire Bros) and drove over a bridge over the Colorado River. I remember saying either to myself, my sister, or just in my head I can’t remember, watching the river below us “when that river dries up, the world will end” It was just such a huge river in my eyes. I’d never seen the ocean yet that young so that was the biggest body of water I’d seen. Growing up watching nature docs, I knew water meant life. All this news is bullshit to pass more unnecessary laws. There would be no drought if California held paramount farms (wonderful company that grows almonds, pistachio, and pomegranate)responsible for using 2/3 of the California aqueduct water for themselves. Southern California gets the remaining 1/3.
