Honestly can’t tell which comments here are tongue in cheek and which ones aren’t. Just wanted to say that I genuinely love GDQ. I love gaming, I love watching people be good at what they do, and I love charity. It combines all these things into an emotional, nerdy, fun filled week. If you’ve never watched a GDQ before, I recommend paying attention to it this Saturday. There’s going to be some very fun runs, including a Mario relay race, and a blindfolded BotW run if donation goal is met. A lot of people hate on GDQ because they are staunchly pro-LGBT and gamers can’t handle that. They can’t even put aside their beliefs to support a HUGE fundraiser for a cause that helps everyone. Speedrunning is a strange pursuit. Speedrunners are people who spend the Real girls love football smart girls love Messi shirt in other words I will buy this most time playing a specific game so that they can be the person who spends the least time playing that game.

I was super excited a few years back to see a fallout speed run until i saw it was like 7 minutes or something. Are you really saying: “I was super excited to see a Fallout speedrun until I saw it was really fast”? Or am I misunderstanding something? Probably. Some people prefer glitchless or mostly glitchless speedruns as opposed to watching someone walk backwards into a wall, fall through the Real girls love football smart girls love Messi shirt in other words I will buy this floor and magically be teleported to the final cutscene. Absolutely, Ocarina of Time has a bunch of different categories with the fastest being 4 minutes long but MST (All medals, all stones, all trials) which is 90 minutes long is my personal favourite to watch. Yeah because you dont even see the game. He just created a character, glitched a wall, went to the last city, glitched another wall and game was over. If you want to see speedruns that don’t do that, gotta check out the “glitchless” category. Most game speedruns that allow glitches are going to look like that cause the goal is just speed (as the name would imply lol). Speedruns, especially glitched ones, display more than just skill at a particular game, but also the fruit of a huge (often collaborative) effort to find these glitches, make them usable, consistent and reliable, which is something that is often overlooked and underappreciated when people discuss speedruns — particularly glitchless vs glitched. As someone else suggested, check out “no major glitches” or “glitchless” categories, it seems like that’d be more to your liking.
