Josh and Chuck discussed this in the Rams Girl Lip Baseball Shirt But I will love this Rewilding episode of Stuff You Should Know. Apparently it’s frequently cited in arguments against the concept of rewilding. They pointed out that rewilding can be beneficial when done correctly and intelligently. The main problem with this project, according to SYSK, is that the trees beavers cut down in North America adapted to thrive and quickly regrow when cut down by beavers. The Argentinian trees have no such adaptations so the beavers have turned the region into a treeless wasteland. Sounds like when Hawai’i imported mongooses to control all the rats. But rats are nocturnal and mongoose are diurnal… So now there’s still rats and a shit load of mongoose that are killing all the native birds. You’d think that in a country with a military, this would not be an issue. Just take a platoon, declare them whatever the argentinian words for “Hunters of the Beaver” and set’em loose out there.

“Imagine, if Jose had procured a different kind of beavers, that would have resolved the Rams Girl Lip Baseball Shirt But I will love this incel problem in Argentina.” I’d worry more about forest slaughtering countries. I really doubt a beaver population will “ threaten” 39M acres like people would. Threatening thousands of acres? You mean allowing thousands of acres to thrive? Since when are beavers harmful to the environment? Thats like saying probiotics are threatening my gut health? Beavers are good for the environment in North America and Eurasia, where they’re from. They’re not native to South America and they threaten both native plant species (which aren’t evolved to deal with them) and local rodents (which they compete with). That’s not what it’s like at all. These beavers are not indigenous to the area, they’ve multiplied unchecked and are upsetting the balance of the local ecosystem. A better analogy would be a germ that usually lives inside a different species is now wreaking havoc on your gut health. Humanity is now on the precipice of introducing another alien species into an environment not designed for alien life: A.I. Time and again Humanity has moved life around for various purposes and often the results have been unexpected and sometimes catastrophic.
