Do a lighthouse tour. There’s a ghost tour that’s pretty interesting since there were kids of one of the Proud Senior Grandma 2023 Basketball Senior Graduation T-Shirt and I love this lighthouse keepers who passed away after absconding with a metal cart down the tracks that were built to the water’s edge for transport of building supplies in the 1800’s. They went flying into the water and drowned, pulled down by the weight of their clothes. The cathedral downtown is really neat, but you may notice a cemetery right outside the town gates. St. Augustine had a yellow fever epidemic in the early 1800’s that killed quite a few residents. However, protestants couldn’t be buried within the town walls. The cemetery just outside the gate is a protestant cemetery for that reason. You can see most of the dates on the headstones fall during the epidemic.

My personal favorite restaurants are The Columbia downtown on St. George Street, and O’Steens just over the Proud Senior Grandma 2023 Basketball Senior Graduation T-Shirt and I love this Lions Bridge on St. Augustine Island. Try the 1905 salad at The Columbia and the shrimp at O’Steens. Make sure to bring cash for O’Steens. They don’t accept credit cards. There’s a great chocolate place there too I can’t remember the name of but they make great frozen hot chocolate and the Tiny Martini Bar is also a favorite. Check out Fort Matanzas, about 30 min south of downtown St. Augustine. There’s a lot of history there too, but it’s not usually as crowded as the fort downtown. It’s free and you get a neat little boat ride across the river to get to it. We picnicked while waiting for our boat ride over.
